Who will be Player of the Decade?

At the 3/4 mark, will Shaw's back-end outweigh Darren's start and overall consistency?

Personally, titles aside, I think Shane has been the best player.

Will Ko do something to steal it?

Someone else?

Whoever has the best Fargo rating should be the player of the decade. j/k, I like SVB too.

Definitely Siming Chen. Shes the top woman in the world and number 40 or something on the FargoRate top 100. Or something like that.

In my mind there is no question that at this moment the title would have to go to SVB. Is there enough time left in the decade for someone to do enough to end up deserving it more? It's possibly but highly unlikely IMO.

Since Shane came on the scene in 2007 he's been the best overall player hands down. The Americans may have lost a step in the global pool world but our number 1 is better than yours!!!!

I agree that SVB is the best in US, but maybe I should start a new thread as I have seen in the last few years there are several new youngsters that could be the best.

Guys that come to mind

Skyler
Justin
Billy

Ken

I don't know the answer to this question, but when considering who the player of the decade is, I want to know one thing and one thing only-who won the most tournaments. Everything else is window dressing.

Add Josh Roberts to that list

Ten years ago, in 2007, I felt Ralf Souquet had a big lead for "Player of the Decade" for 2000-2009 but Immonen's superhuman 2009 wrestled away the honor.

Today, in 2017, I feel SVB has a big lead for player of the decade. No other player has a good year every year other than Shane. It's not too late for someone else to wrestle it away, but it would take a string of major titles not seen since Immonen's run in 2009.

I think SVB has a 95% shot at Player of the Decade.

Fargo Rate is irrelevant. That's like who's ranked number one in tennis or gold. Who cares..........
How many major titles have you won?
SVB has 4 US Open Titles this decade. Period.
Currently the only players I believe have a chance to catch him are Shaw and Chang
Also player of the decade for what? 9-ball,10-ball, 1-pocket, 14.1............

That would be me then! I've won the Tuesday night 8-ball tournament at Rusty's Bar and Grill over three hundred times this decade!

People seem to be answering a different question to what the OP asked.

SVB has not won a single world championship hence can't seriously be included in the debate.

He may (or may not, depending on your opinion) be the most talented player this decade, the most consistent and probably the best US player.

But that wasn't the original question.

The player of the decade has to have stepped up on the World stage, not just in the US.
