Siming Chen vs Donny Mills

Can you explain what you mean by this? I mean, explain the exact mechanics of how CSI had anything to do with the closing up shop of a high-end, one-on-one action match streaming service?

I am not saying this was not the reason, I just don't understand in what way CSI was competing with TAR? JCIN definitely seemed to be bummed about having to shut down TAR, and I got the distinct impression that it was because a lot of these little tournaments being streamed were a. lower priced than a TAR match, and b. more easily digestable because of the shorter match length, and getting to see many different players.

I would appreciate a little more clarification on this, if you have the time.

You’re off base. In left field actually. It’s not a simple answer but not my place to air the dirty laundry.

Right.. Because TAR, because he had a brick and mortar site, and had expensive, high fidelity equipment, was much more expensive to run, and simply could not compete with low end, cheaper solutions.

Cheap people also buy Chinese knockoff Nikes, as well.

TAR was the best. Other streamers had absolutely zero to do with them closing up shop. When CSI and Justin broke up, Justin could have very well bought a $600 camera and computer, traveled around and lived off the TAR name and brand he built... a low end, cheaper solution. Wasn’t worth it.

You are failing to note the technology impact.

What was complicated became easy...ie: live streaming. Anybody can do it now and TAR had previous gen technology (which isn't too surprising, 2007, vs 2017).

I'll agree that the product on offer via Facebook/ TAR isn't of the same quality, but it is pool balls rolling around. We get the same story either way.

He could have unless they had a agreement in place that prevented that , and my bet would be that's excatly what happened,

I would bet against that-not too much but im a nit anyway. Just too trivial to bother with a non compete contract imho.

Well this thread took many turns!

I went to to the local pool hall last night to play a monthly $40 entry scratch 10 ball tournament. When I walked in, the whole place was talking about Wilkie vs Siming! I was proud and surprised.

I was feeling so good I told everyone that was there I’m going to win. Eddie Abraham and Matt Krah were the two strongest players there and I told them both to watch out!

I had never played a rack of ten ball in my life. I decided to soft break like Corey did in Tar #1. I had no idea how to do it and flat racked myself on top of it. The rack barely opened up and I felt embarrassed.

I then proceeded to lose my first match 6-3 against a 599 with 694 robustness. I used hard breaks the next racks.

After the match I went to the faimmatch site to see what rating for me that cooresponds to. (My name is not in the system at all). It was 491. I wanted to cry:(

I then played my 15 year customer 100 a game one hole giving him 9-7. He ended beating me one game.

The above does all sound gloomy but while playing my customer we were all shooting the shit with the rail and it was lots of fun. I was laughing is hard at times my ribs were hurting.

Thanks for the mindless read:)

Aren't all Nikes made cheaply in China? So who would the sucker be? :D

Thank you for that! She made such a splash and was so fun to watch. I wish she would compete regularly with the Men.

Are those two matches in Fargo?

Yes. Chezka played about 120 games against men in that trip and performed about as expected. She went 8 to 11 against Yu Lung Chang, 4-2 against Amar Kang, etc

I just bought the stream. $10 for the whole 2 day match.

I hope it technically goes smoothly. I never heard of this streaming service before. Roy's Basement has done everything on FB thus far, as far as I know. I hope this doesn't turn out to be downgrade in quality.

People need to be careful about reading too much into this match. It would NOT be the first time someone played under their speed in a small matchup to get the side bets right on a bigger game.

And if it's on video for the world to see? All the better.

I think anyone thinking Donny is gonna run over Siming and bets accordingly is gonna get their nuts shot off.

Roy posted a photo of a group dinner last night that included both Donnie and Siming.

Shortbus and the conspiracy theorists will have a field day...

Looking forward to this match, gonna be a fun one.

Where is this being played?

Roy also posted pictures of him and Donnie at Derby City. But trust me, the action is on the up and up. Donnie will give 100% as will Siming. Both sides have great reputations.
