CTE Videos Of The Day - #15, #16, #17

Spider already said he lives next to a trash dump. I thought it was a sewage treatment plant but he corrected me.

I guess that means if real estate in his neighborhood heats up it would be indistinguishable from a dumpster fire

lol.

Is it an apartment, or a condo, or a house? He seems to know a lot about cheaper places to live.

Lou Figueroa

I thought Mosconi had the record of 526..not 626.

Danny is a pro player from back in the day. Was on USA Mosconi Cup Team (again back in the day)
Still today probably one of the better 14.1 Straight Pool players around.
Not sure if he studies CTE or not. Every thread he was involved in regarding the "626" Hi Run "Record" turned into a S*%t Show.
I feel this thread is better in that regard. Hence my post.
You say that...…."Every thread he was involved in regarding the "626" Hi Run "Record" turned into a S*%t Show."
Does he have smelly feets?

It's not a mansion and we don't own rare art. But it's a nice joint and people are usually wowed when they come over for the first time.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about an invitation, lol.

Lou Figueroa

LMFAO! Lou, there is NO invitation or NO incentive for me to ever want to be any closer to you than I already am which is the number of states and miles between St. Louis and Pennsylvania. The thought of it makes me cringe.

oh, I know I’d never get you away from your sweet crib next to the city dump and all your posters of K-pop boy bands that you have up on the 8’ walls of your man-sion, lol.

Lou Figueroa...so little class for a man with no class at all. I'm thinking all the art hanging on the walls of your mansion are centerfolds from Playboy and Penthouse.

That's right up your alley and taste.

I guess you didn't have enough work to do denigrating every one in the main forum today. Double dipping now...

You want real art? You have to become a 1%er first and then you can commission something like this:

Mine is 630. I could give excuses, but it is what it is. Also if I posted my name and you did a search for me, you'd find more than few games of me dogging my brains out. I get nervous on camera. That does not explain the rating, though.

I concentrate on other cue games now, snooker and the tight pocket games. I'd be happy to play you if I ever come to Florida. Not for 5k, though.:D

Love to play some if you ever make it down. We can play cheaper for sure. Hell I might even give you some milano's and maybe take you out on the jet ski's.

Over the last 3 years or so I've had Fargo ratings range from mid 600's to as low as 590. When you play in a league with a good amount of strong players, Fargo ratings around 600 to 700 mean very little as far as differentiating skill level. Many of us regularly break and run racks or get out from nowhere quite often. Right now I might be around 600, but I wouldn't hesitate playing any player as high as 700 or 720.

The differences in various leagues, when it comes to the average skill level of the leagues themselves, becomes obvious when you go to SBE or Vegas. I've been matched up with players rated in the high 600's to low 700's, and they accuse me of sandbagging the system because my rating was maybe a 605 or whatever. Then again, I've was a 590 something last year at the SBE and got waxed by a player who was rated around 500. You never really know the true skill of a player until you actually play them.

I'm not downing the Fargo system. Overall I think it's very good. I'm just pointing that if you primarily play only in your local league, don't venture out to multiple sanctioned tournaments here or there every month, then your Fargo rating is really just an indicator of how you stack up with the other players in your league. This means you might be a 640 in your league, but move to a new town and find yourself playing even with players in the mid 500's. Or if your league is loaded with talent, your 640 would match closer to low 700's in another league. It's just how it is.

Do any of these players get out to play other people in tournaments or are most scores from that particular league play?. Fargo works good when lots of scores are entered and the larger the variety of players helps.

Why would you think Gail would want nudes of other women hanging on the walls around our house?

Lou Figueroa

Nope, you didn't say "mansion" specifically or "rare art".

Here's what you said: "Live in a really nice house in the hottest real estate neighborhood in St. Louis. Visitors have said our house should be in Architectural Digest -- high ceilings, loft, custom paint and wood work, beautiful kitchen, Japanese garden, and art everywhere ;-)

First of all it isn't a HOUSE. Should be in Architectural Digest? Produces "Visions of a mansion" or breathtaking appearance. High ceilings? I don't think so from the outside and age of initial construction. Not normal for a building that age to have high ceilings unless it was gutted and completely rebuilt. Loft? I don't know. Take a picture and post it.
Custom paint and woodwork? I'd say most everyone who owns a "home" can claim that as part of the fixing up inside.

Beautiful kitchen? Depends on what one's taste is and requirement for a beautiful kitchen. Japanese Garden? Where? Art everywhere? What's the definition of "art" and where is "everywhere"?

So I did what you ALWAYS do which is embellish and misquote TWO MINOR THINGS.

SUE ME!

I can pick out a helluva lot more posts you've made that were over the top when trying to bury someone in a flame war or your constant self aggrandizing crap.

LOL.

Lou was a PAO.

They are trained to write and embellish.

One man's wigwam is another man's mansion.

I'm sure he has a nice place, though.

FWIW, I grew up in Missouri and have tons of relatives there, but you couldn't pay me to live in St. Louis.

Not really. There are 100+ players in our BCA league. We usually take six 5-player teams to Vegas for the BCA 8ball championships. A handful of us might play in another big tournament here or there, like the SBE or a smaller BCA sanctioned tournament, but not often. So our Fargo ratings are basically in-house based.

We have a good variety of players, ranging from low C to A, lowest Fargo is 259, highest is 683. About half the league is 500 or higher, and 12 or 13 of us are 600 or above. It's a good competitive league. Top 3 teams and 3 randomly drawn teams go to the BCA Championships.

Yeah, and he never stopped.

They're all home sweet home in the end.

Depends. You said it above but can be turned around. "One man's mansion is another man's wigwam.

Especially knowing Lou lives there. Also because St. Louis is ranked as the 6th most dangerous city to live in the United States.

◦Violent Crime Rate (per 1,000 residents): 18.2
◦Chance of being a victim: 1 in 55

Lou claimed: "We can walk to dozens of restaurants, bars, stores, library, one of the largest parks in the US, the Metro Link, zoo, live theatre, and movies."

Sounds to me like walking is one of the LAST things you want to do where he lives. It's like being a sitting duck with a target on your back. ROB ME, ROB ME!! (especially when you're old and lets say on the "chunky side".) (I'm being respectful)

Heaven forbid having to run into him on the street somewhere. I think there are those on the main forum, here, and onepocket.org who would prefer changing the word "into" to "over" based on his posting history.

But hey, he IS the GREATEST! Just ask him.

I'm not knocking the league. I just think fargo depends on a greater mixture of players. From my understanding if you beat John and John beats SVB then your rating goes up without even playing again. So if John from your league won a pro tournament that reported to fargo then all your ratings would go up. It's a little crazy but parts of the USA love it and think it's a very accurate system

It probably is accurate for those who travel around and compete in Fargo rated tournaments. But when most of the players are primarily in-house players, the Fargo stats don't mean much when those players go somewhere else to play outside of the in-house arena, and a lot of times they don't mean much in-house either, at least beyond a certain rating, like 550 or somewhere close to that.

For example, in our BCA league, I'm ranked 13th as far as Fargo ratings are concerned. But I'm ranked #2 in the league based on win/loss ratio, and ranked #1 based on total points earned (balls pocketed). Those stats provide a more accurate indication of who is likely to win any certain matchup. If I go to Columbus and play in a sanctioned BCA tournament as a 600 rated player, I could easily get ran over top of by a player with a rating of 525 who happens to come from a very tough league. Or I could run over top of a 700 player that happens to play in a weak league where he's considered one of the best.

I'm sure the numbers balance out eventually, after a player has played more open tournaments against players from everywhere, rather than just local players in his home town.

I feel the same way about Hawaii -- couldn't pay me to live there.

After our last visit I told Gail I would never bother going back.

Every city has crime.

In our neighborhood you will see couples with strollers, kids on bikes and tricycles, dog walkers, nursing and pharmacy students jogging, people going to work at the huge medical center a few blocks away, and so on. My neighbors are a CEO, an attorney, doctors (3), an architect, pharmacists (2), and a few retirees. The deputy mayor of St. Louis used to live a couple of doors down.

I'm guessing you don't see much of that living around the city dump ;-)
