Idk much about him, plays good is about all I knowBased on marek's input, seems like billy might be the one power drunk.
He's had a helluva year.
I won't post it here but the Saez video is still out there. When I watched that I saw a man engaging in self destructive behavior who needed to change. Now apparently he is suspended. The "disorders" you refer to above from smoking marijuana may inpact a fraction of 1% of the people who use it, a very small fraction at that! Now compare it with alcohol and the disorders associated with its use. There is no comparison! One is very dangerous when used improperly and the other is rather timid by comparison. And you don't need to be a doctor to understand that. Just being a fully conscious human being will suffice.
The guidelines were public knowledge, and very easy to follow. It's not like the rules and laws are a wildcard changing by the hour
Did you sleep through the past 2 years?
It was one of the govts that stopped Earl, et al, and made organizations do this crap for them. Everyone surprised about it as it happened.
Enabling has many faces.

I think you've lost your context here.Someone claims this is to appease the Olympic committee.
My god, have we no shame?

The discussion is about player agreements and banned substance testing.
Follow the $$$$ and you will always find your answer.Driven my what? Those were my two points. What of pool, THE reason for all this?
Pool is NOT the other sports. Trying to emulate those is a losing game. Pool has its unique culture and such and should play on that to get more market share, not on fake sports like the Olympics which now lets men compete as women, in case some still believe it is a real event.
Would anyone here support THAT kind of testing? C'mon, guys, you don't pass up others by running as they do.

Earl already has most of those symptoms, and he doesn't even smoke weed. It would probably be the complete opposite for him. How much you want to bet he would be a calm and cool character if you could get him to burn one.
Watch this short video for a hint from those that know Earl well.According to an interview, he doesn't. He is a giant health nut. Good for him by the way.
I get it.... you are being a funny man!Watch this short video for a hint from those that know Earl well.
The silver lining is that the monetary loss for 2 year ban of a professional pool player is what? 28k? Where 3 games of pro basketball player might be 500k. Seriously, 2 years is pretty harsh for a substance such as Mary Jane. Hate to admit it but I agree with Earl, ban him for the Mosconi cup and don't do it again or the next ban will get worse.Just saw Earl posted this. For weed?? Ridiculous!!! FUCK THE WPBA!!!
(Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, I searched and didn’t see any others on this, my search abilities may be as good as my pool game…)

R.I.F.Earl has lost his last chance so there will be no "next ban."
Taking away precious time....sigh.

Depends what borders you are crossing? I'd be very, very careful about where I'd go with marijuana, though fortunately it's not something I have to worry about, not using myself. Not only can you be arrested, in many countries the police will not hesitate to put hands on you and then there are other inmates.... I'm not spending a single second in Turkish prison if I can avoid it!I quit smoking (regularly anyways) a couple of months ago but I used to worry when I would go across the border but after a while - fuck it, what are they going to do, arrest me? It's a stupid ticket and I'd just pay the fine.
I recall the suspension of Ricky Williams from the Miami Dolphins for pot was a full season I think. That was quite some time ago, but Ricky lost waaay more than Billy could ever hope to earn throughout his careerThe two year suspension of BT sounds a bit draconian, but certainly not completely abnormal.
I started writing the above post a day or two ago and then went searching for evidence of this drunken situation. I found it. Not a great look for wild bill but not too terrible.I know for a 1000% fact one of the players in Mosconi regularly smokes weed.
Would not surprise me that Billy's number came up because of the shit storm he caused with Rob Saez. When pool wants you out, they show you the door. One way or another.
My god... why is this guy so heavily coated with teflon on this forum...?I wonder if billy was targeted by someone who doesn’t like his style. Wasn’t he drunk on a stream recently? And maybe made some comments people didn’t like? I remember something like that.

It doesn’t surprise me at all though that he was subsequently chosen for a “random”.
One major perk of having laws/rules against common activities is that you can use these whenever convenient to punish dissenters and trouble makers, and allow those who don’t rock the boat to slide
I was referring to Billy Thorpe in which Earl posted on social media that Billy received a 2 year ban from the WPA and that's the reason he wasn't considered for the Mosconi Cup.Earl has lost his last chance so there will be no "next ban."
