Or, as Shakespeare noted in "As You Like It"

All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.

‘Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.’

(Macbeth, Act 5, Scene 5)

Great quote --- I love Macbeth. I think my favorite Shakespeare play is Julius Caesar, but Hamlet is second and Macbeth is third.

That would require inter bank communication.
SWIFT has been taken away from Russia.
SWIFT is how banks communicate with each other.
What you are proposing cannot be done with the way the current sanctions are in place.
By the way, Russia's largest bank, Sberbank, failed today.
It went under.
The world is shunning everything Russian.
Can't they pay in crypto?

if the citizens pay a price in war then they will have less reason to elect or let dictators get in power. war is terrible. and easily avoidable if you have sane players at the helm.

unfortunately the citizens fight and die in the war and those that instigated it just watch the show.

I see your Shakespeare and raise you one Ozzie Osbourne
“How am I supposed to know
Hidden meanings that will never show
Fools and prophets from the past
Life's a stage and we're all in the cast”

Putin is former KGB. So that mindset will stay in the Russian government until he is gone. We'll have to see what happens. I only hope the entire world stands together when the Chinese are the aggressor. It's coming. Taiwan might be next.
Like you said, get used to it, more is coming. Like it or not the U.S. was the policeman of the world of sorts for a long, long time, especially in the sense that they have been the only thing that was preventing other super powers like Russia and China from doing much of the evil that they would like to do.

There are three things though that make other super power nations like Russia and China significantly more likely to go ahead and implement some of their evil desires, such as what Russia is now doing here, because they know/believe under those circumstances that they will then be able to get away with it. Those are:
1. When the U.S. has a weak president.
2. When the U.S. has a completely incompetent president, and even worse when he is half senile on top of it.
3. When the U.S. President is in bed with them (and/or they have good blackmail material on him and/or his close loved ones).

Russia and China hit the absolute jackpot in early 2021 by getting all three with Biden, and the highest possible amounts on all three at that. At that point it was only a matter of how many months it was going to take for Russia and China to do something like this, not an if.

Yup, more is coming for sure as the U.S. is now a laughing stock no longer truly respected or feared by anyone in the world as of the last year, and there isn't anything that can be done to change that fact until there is a big change in U.S, leadership because the current leadership quite simple lacks the ability to change that fact.

Dude, our President's sanctions has caused Russian banks to collapse,
dropped the Russian ruble's worth to less than an American penny,
closed the Russian stock exchange, frozen Putins assets,
and has organized the free civilized world to support those sanctions.
So far 6,000 Russian protestors at home have been arrested and thousands more
are still protesting because they now need a wheelbarrow full of rubles to go to the market.
Pretty soon Russia will be as isolated from the world as North Korea.
Yup, old slow senile Brandon did all of that.
The world is now looking to the US to lead them again.
Instead of laughing at us the world is looking to us again for direction.
Hell Finland and Sweden now want to Join NATO.
You really have it all backwards.

its long past time these other countries pay for what we provide and give full support. we take all the heat and they do pitiful little to help.
the only way that militant dictators get stopped is if the whole free world comes down on them immediately and removes him and all his staff.

sweden and finland only want to be in nato now as its been shown they are vulnerable and wont get help. and putin has already threatened them
and if they want in now when they didnt earlier as they didnt want to contribute, and used staying neutral to their advantage economically, they should have to pay dearly for us and the rest of nato to risk a nuclear war to protect their interest.
