He would probably get rounded up, sent to some camp in Louisiana, and shipped back to Venezuela.....and get Atencio onboard, and give the USA the wild 8.

I think it adds another element to the game, do I try and cheat the pocket or play safe? With the 4" pockets there is no option you will be playing safe, I'd like to see the players have to make a choice and I think we would see more "Z shot" type of shots taken, more exciting for the spectators and the TV cameras too.I had rather see a guy run two or three racks in a row than see him miss a ball or two every game because the pocket spit the ball out because he tried to "cheat" the pocket 1/4" to get position.
Plenty of precision now, along with a lot of safety play, I understand it but to people who are not knowledgeable about pool it's boring to watch, pool was bigger when players had a chance to take and make amazing shots, I don't blame the players for not taking chances when the odds are stacked against them due to the table conditions. The answer is on the players not the restrictions. IOW <precision>. Well one word.

In more words, How likely is a 180 degree angle? If the ball has wiggle room at all, there's your angles.
Still dogging it = a clear shortage of precision. Seriously, what's all the game sense for when they can't remember how the game shot works? National representation on world stage is way short on competence...Plenty of precision now, along with a lot of safety play, I understand it but to people who are not knowledgeable about pool it's boring to watch, pool was bigger when players had a chance to take and make amazing shots, I don't blame the players for not taking chances when the odds are stacked against them due to the table conditions.
Opinions vary......no coverage of the Mosconi cup, US open on ESPN but there is coverage of Pickleball and Cornhole, but you're right.......Still dogging it = a clear shortage of precision. Better coaching had a lot to do with it! Johann knew how to get the best out of his players.they should brainstorm about how they won in 2018 and 2019. It was basically the same level of talent (if not better now with Gorst on the team).
They are underdogs for sure, but they shouldn't lose this badly every year and should actually win here and there with the right coaching and personnel
Sounds like Johan and Matchroom are deep in negotiations.Better coaching had a lot to do with it! Johann knew how to get the best out of his players.

Hopefully they agree a deal and Johan can start planning for next year's cup.
They should make another “Rocky” movie but instead of an underdog boxer they could use team USA for the Mosconi Cup. Maybe have John Turturro play the crazed heartless coach that has to whip them into a championship team in a short time where they have to live, workout and practice together with no outside interference. Have a lot of T & A so I would watch it and maybe even Sly would do a cameo
if it were bar table 8 ball, perhaps we would have a better chance, especially if Corey Deuel were added to the mix

I aware that the UK has great British Black/8 ball players, but SVB is a great bar table 8 ball player, as are Sky, Bergman, and Corey Deuel. It is a moot point anyway as I highly doubt they would ever switch the MC to bar table 8 ballWould rather watch Turturro play a gigolo with Woody Allen as his manager
I doubt so. Few of top UK 8 ball players did quite well playing in UP USA. If prizemoney were few times more like WNT or Predator or Heyball, planeloads of top UK 8 ballers (who are paid peanuts playing UK 8 ball) will swarm UP USA. Oh and the 800+ WNT/Predator WPA Euros will also do very well
Two words: Johan R
No but Matchroom could buy up Ultimate Pool and create a bar table Mosconi Cup.I aware that the UK has great British Black/8 ball players, but SVB is a great bar table 8 ball player, as are Sky, Bergman, and Corey Deuel. Alex Lely coaches pool. There are several snooker coaches including some who mostly work on the mental side. I think they would fit. An example:Are there any well known coaches for pool other than Johann?
Maybe pool is on the verge of being worth it to coaches like this guy...Alex Lely coaches pool. There are several snooker coaches including some who mostly work on the mental side. I think they would fit. An example:
Here is a discussion/interview with Chris Henry, who is the coach to several top snooker players. I found the part about reprogramming the brain with a practice situation particularly interesting.
A hard sell. Snooker has a long tradition of coaching. The US, not so much.Maybe pool is on the verge of being worth it to coaches like this guy...
I like your idea of studying the years they won.they should brainstorm about how they won in 2018 and 2019. It was basically the same level of talent (if not better now with Gorst on the team).

I think you’re onto something very useful. Are there any well known coaches for pool other than Johann?
