I have been capt of league team for 7 years now. Our team name was rack & crack for 3 years. I always joked that we need a good woman as team mascot and score keeper. I was 50 years old and the youngest man on team so I changed our name to Team Viagra. I bought all kinds of junk on ebay, shirts, ink pens, pocket markers and told everybody we were company sponcered. For matches lasting longer than 4 hrs call your physician imediately. We have never had more than 6 players and sometimes getting 5 to the poolhall was trouble. This year I changed our name to Just Show Up. We have a lot of fun and have won this division several times. Parkersburg has some great players.

Did Charlie Ursitti send you photos of Mosconi's cues? I saw them in person about 6 weeks ago in Allentown... Mosconi's son Bill met me there. He is very private, but Charlie and I are close and so are they. I have to say that what struck me is how well Mosconi maintained his tips/ferrules, and the cues have no damage.... not even the bumpers. I would kill to be able to buy one of these but I can't ..... It would be killer to hit with one of Mosconi's cues and get the feel of how top players' cues hit back then. Wow is all I have to say. And Bill Mosconi is a super-nice, easygoing guy. Shane Johnson said you wished for one of Mosconi's cues.... here is your chance bro.... good luck..... john

Hi Fatboy been reading your posts on the carom forum. You may find this website pretty interesting : http://users.skynet.be/billard.billiards/sum.htm The website is a collection of old Carom cues. If you notice on the site the adjustable weight has been used since 1800's. I kind of like the bottle shapes cues.

Fatboy, thanks for the feedback on my Dippy post. While we go flocking at the first buzz of Dippy in action with one of the champions, I wonder if you know if any of the poker crowd shows up to check it out and maybe get down on the matches. Willie Mosconi's former manager and close friend, billiard historian Charlie Ursitti, will email you photos of the cue. I met with Bill Mosconi, Willie's son, a few weeks ago and saw the cue in person. Nice. Mosconi kept all his cues pristine, especially tips and ferrules... even the bumpers look pristine.
