    Custom (custom) leather cases

I can't tell you if his time frame is consistent or longer. I've never had him make me a case. I know Will Prout has had several cases done by Phil. You should ask him for better input. What I can compare it to is anything else that is custom made. 8 months is nothing for a true one of a...

    ball quality

That's exactly what I'm talking about. You would think they would incorporate it with their other sets or create a new set. I would think there are people out there, other than you and I, that would benefit from it. Thanks for the find Steve.

    Custom (custom) leather cases

You can't go wrong with one of Phil's cases. Brandon Pureza had Phil make his "Frankenstein" case and it was nuts!!!! Well worth the wait for his creative genius. It won't be cheap but it will be "ONE OF A KIND!" Too bad Brandon didn't keep it longer than he did. 8 months = CHRISTMAS!!!!

    ball quality

Steve, have you seen the SA 5-ball set being played? I just saw them on their website and will now look to see if there are any videos of it being played. Seems interesting to me as they are tailored them to introduce younger generations to caroms.

    ball quality

I totally agree with you Steve with respect to the red ball. It comes up more often than one thinks it would. And for us half-blind fellows, we need all the help we can get. And perhaps a nice set with 2 white cue balls, one with red measles and one with yellow, and a red measle ball would...

    question #2...

Totally agree with what Scott said above. I did the same. Then you will start tinkering with shaft diameters and tips to find what works best with your stroke/preferences. It's all down hill from there except for the crying. The hard part for me is finding a challenge whenever I do get a...

just played on a 3 cushion table for the first time

I was one of those idiots as well. I should have learned to play back in the 80s when I first had the chance. Same with one-pocket. It wasn't until well later in my pool life did I truly understand how beautiful the games are. Do yourself a favor and get some of the books out there that are...

    question #2...

Hey Gerry, you should be able to play with just about any LD shaft out there without worries. For me, it's more about the taper than anything else. A 3c cue shaft normally has a straight taper or conical taper. 3c cues tend to be shorter and lighter as well from what I've seen. That's not to...

just played on a 3 cushion table for the first time

You are very fortunate indeed. I only wish I were lucky enough to have more than one just an hour and half away. My advice to you is....play them often and get others into it as well. It can help all of your pocket games. And hopefully those tables won't disappear.

We need more topics here in Carom land!

Thanks. Just doing my part to pay it forward. The world needs more of us 3-cushion nuts. ;)

We need more topics here in Carom land!

It can be very confusing to a newbie when observing a match or watching someone play. 3c is usually played with two players. The winner of the lag determines which ball will be his/hers...either white or yellow. Red is always neutral. From that point on, your cue ball will "always" be the...

    Carom Cues

Gerry....if I ever make it up your way, I'd love to try out your table. I'd even help you put some paint on the walls just for the pleasure. Having only found 1 table close (1 hour away) from me, I don't get to play that much anymore. I missed my chance to play BlackBalled when he was down my...

    Carom Cues

If I was just starting out on my 3c journey, I would find a good cheap one first. Go to SBE and try some out first. If you're lucky enough to have a pool room close to you that has a table, I'm sure there's someone there that has cues that would let you try them. Don't spend a lot of money on...

    Craig "Pineapple" Morris passing

I just heard that Craig Morris has passed. I wanted to share the news with everyone here as many of you may have known him. He was a fixture as the doorman at many US Open 9 Ball Championships handing out roses to all the ladies in attendance. He was a certified instructor and very...
