Went to the cardiologist today for results of my tests. Thee last few times I’ve played for money my heart started racing and beating irregular. Of course my RN wife was there to tell him that recently I was having the problem mostly when I gamble. After 40+ years you’d think I’d learn not to tell her things like that.
Anyhow the doctor said no gambling on pool, no pool tournaments, or anything else that could lead to stress. He said there is just too much damage to just put a pacemaker in. He said I’d have to have a transplant. I told him even if I could get one by waiting on the list I wouldn’t take a good heart that could save the life of a young person that could have 50 or more years to live with one. The doctor said, “Don’t be a fool”. Looking for a new doctor now. I’ll quit the gambling and the other things he told me to quit, but I am going to play in a tournament close to home that if I have a problem I can just forfeit and leave.
