Trudeau's scams are small potatoes compared to hustle run out of Washington D C by the politicians who run this country and get rich in the process.
 
Alstl- you are a very shrewd and observant person. The "sheeples" keep looking at the small thief and forget the very large one that drains them each paycheck.
 
Neflix has a very good show I just watched, The Men Who Built America I think it's called. About the big names like Carnege, Morgan and Rockefeller.

Quite interesting about their business practices in an un-regulated America. Similar to the unethical businesses that Kevin ran.

I never new exactly how rich they were, seems those 3 alone, were worth almost a trillion dollars in today's money. When Carnege at one point was the richest man on the planet, he was worth more than Bill Gates and Buffett combined.

They also said when Standard Oil was broken up, Rockefeller owned stock in all the companies, which made him wealthier than ever LOL

On the IPT side, I think what he tried to do was very good for the players, it got a ton of players back in the game and made a quite a few players enough to get houses, new cars, money to invest in business, etc... Even with the thing collapsing and not all payments made, what was paid out was quite a lot.

Not even close....selling fake medical cures for terminal diseases to desperate poor folk just doesn't match up to building national railroads, banks, and steel mills.

Were they cut throat businessmen with questionable ethics? Perhaps...but while they treated their workers pretty roughly by current standards, that was the standard at that time. Nor were they low life predators hustling $10 bills from the ones who needed them the most. IMO

I guess they did not cheat anyone about their products, I think I mentioned that show and group of people because of the "American Greed" title and the fact that I just watched the other show days ago. Maybe I used the wrong comparison, but either way it was business practices that got the bosses in trouble.
 
Every company that was prosecuted under Anti-Trust laws had actually reduced the prices of their products. In the cases of Rockefeller and Carnegie, the reduction was almost to 1/10th the cost of products in their industry before they gained dominance due mostly to improved technology and efficiency. That annoyed their competitors and their old money friend in government. They improved the world as much as the governments combined actions have hurt it.

In the case of Trudeau, as dodgy as he seems, his main crime was competing against the government backed medical monopoly. How dare one promote alternative ideas of medicine when the experts are knocking off the schmucks by the hundreds of thousands every year by iatrogenic means. Now I would not take Trudeau's advice as gospel, that's for sure, but I find the idea of banning alternative means of medicine from being allowed to make any claims both dangerous and immoral.

Oh you didnt know? Stanley Ho, Trudeau's investor, sold the IPT to Triad Dragon Head, Nogo Nomo, in a deal worth a case of cigarettes and a quart of pork fried rice. Since then, the IPT has been run in Hong Kong as a side event to the kumite. Frank Dux was last years King of the Hill winner. :thumbup:

There is no way I would take any medicine not tested by a group of doctors and the FDA. There are actually lawsuits that are brought against parents that refuse medical treatment or administer untested or "holistic" medicine to their kids that end up causing issues or death. I think there were at least one set of parents that were sued for manslaughter because they refused treatment for their kid because of religion. Note that all of those "supplements" carry a note that their statements were not evaluated or tested by the FDA. Meaning they can write whatever they want on the box pretty much even if it's not true, or borderline true. Like one doctor saw a 1.5% change in 5 out of 100 patients using the product.

Trying to sell bottles of miracle cure as a fix for anything is so 1880.

Don't forget that on the other hand, those running the FDA are, to a huge extent, ex employees of large pharmaceutical companies and tend to approve those things that are in their personal financial interest over those that are not. They also tend to let the pharmaceutical companies test their own products and accept their results as proof that the drugs they're trying to make billions off of are safe for us to consume. More people are killed by doctors and their prescription drugs than by most other means combined. Note that I'm only addressing the post quoted, not condoning Kevin's actions.

No matter what people want to think about Kevin Trudeau, he actually put millions of dollars into paying poolplayers. While is he is crook at heart, he is a minnow compared to Madoff and the other billion dollar theives.

Yes, two (or more) sides to every coin. I've been on a health quest for the past 5 years, and I'm a firm believer that one's lifestyle has more to do with one's overall health, than anything an MD can do for someone, or anything that a perception pill can do for someone. That said, I'm now actually curious what was in KT's Natural Cures book. Maybe I'll download a copy off of the torrent sites. For sure I would not buy one.

I think this show is just digging for crap. KT has been in jail about 1 year now, serving a 10 year sentence. There were several exposé shows over the years about all the cons he pulled. I'm actually surprised this show is featuring him on their first episode. He seems old news to the mass media (he's always news to us pool nuts).

Unless I read you wrong, this isnt the show's first episode. American Greed has been a long running show.

Either way, I'm gonna try to watch, out of morbid curiosity.

"First episode" is undoubtedly understood to mean first in the new package of episodes -- IOW now-premiered; never aired before; newly created; first in their new season; -- take your pick.
