★ world 9 ball championship ★ qatar★

As I said Ko was playing close matches the entire time and it showed at the end of the set. That last push out from SVB is why he lost. Nothing to do with luck, when it came time to out move him to force it hill hill he sold out in a big moment. Then Ko ran out with absolute control of the table including a sporty shot on the 3, he worked that side pocket to force that off angle position straight.

The better player won

and the better characters got the most air time on the Hustlers!

I don't feel like punching Ko in the face but I havbe to agree with just about everything you wrote. I'm an American and I loved the way Shane stood up to the luck factor. He made me proud, just fading the luck the way he did.

The way Shane kept coming out and making quality runs convinces me he is the real deal. I'd have steam coming out of my ears and be thinking about flipping the table if I'd had that run of the balls.

He may have showed slight signs of disappointment, but he kept coming back with quality pool.

Never been a Shane basher, nor a fan boy either, but he's impressed me a heck of a lot in the last couple of tournaments. I'd put him slightly above Wu Jia Qing as no.1 in the world at the moment, and a good 30 Fargo points above any European!

LOL

Oh god!

Actually no, pro sports are about the fans. That's how it's supposed to be, anyways.

That's your opinion, in this instance though they wouldn't stop play for a stream. Real pro sports would be on network television not a choppy stream.

Alternating break 9 ball. I'm not surprised.

If that was me instead of Shane, the stream wouldn't have had a chance to fail before they pulled the plug. After the billionth roll, I would have broke my cue over my knee and the Ko's over the table just before they hauled me off in the midst of spewing a steady stream of 4 letter invectives.

I don't know what match you were watching.

Ko played very well but his luck exceeded his skill in this match. The commentators saw the incredible luck that kept coming for Ko.

The chat room spectators saw Ko's incredible luck and commented constantly about it.

I guess I just don't understand how you can say luck had nothing to do with this loss for Shane.

Oh well, I guess everyone sees what they want to see, including me.

You're right

No offense but when these two play, SVB usually comes up a little short. Ko is probably the best in the world right now, it's his turn. I think the outcome would have been the same had he faced Wu. Even at the very apex of pool there are World Champions who know what it takes to close out and there are some elite guys that people will make excuses for.

What I saw when I watched were poor pushouts from SVB, no adjustment on his break to shorten up that 1 ball going in the corner pocket, and Ko holding his nerve in incredible fashion. Although the score was tied, I think 9-9 was the turning point for me. SVB looked slightly weaker from there like the moment got to him. Ko on the other hand only appeared to be getting stronger and stronger as the pressure built. That guy is cold blooded and as calculated a player as I have ever watched. He goes to the table with a plan for the entire rack and executes it. The shots that people are saying he got lucky on is a joke, the only other alternative was he makes the ball and gets out. It takes a special level of play to win up there and now you have a 2 time world champion getting discredited on a pool forum.

I wanted SVB to win as much as anyone but I can recognize Ko did something real special and DESERVED the win the most.

Hey what do you expect??? Its 9 ball!!... might as well flip quarters to determine who'll make it into the last 4. Too much luck (good and bad) in this format... Looks like 'Pool' would stop this misrepresentation of a "skilled game" to demonstrate the best...

AMRO??, 10B (with rules that removes luck)....Imo, Champions should be 'fairly represented' ... '9-ball' really is a bit of a joke. Always has been... to risky to wager on.
