10 Ball qualifier at California Billiards

Went to California Billiards to watch the 1st day of the 10 ball tourney at California Billiards. I have to say, I was pretty suprised at the low turn out for such a big event. I don't think a lot of players even knew about it. It definitely could have been advertised a lot more.

Anyway, when I left the final 4 on the winners side was:
Max 'Mad Max' Eberle who was shooting super smooth and looked very comfortable.
Corey (Chicken Legs) Harper who was also shooting pretty sporty and has an awesome break! (And the nicest Carmelli cue I've ever seen)
Tony Annigoni who was looking and playing some serious pool.
George Michaels who always plays top level pool. He is a consistant pro no doubt.

Should be a good final shootout today.

Wanted to throw a shout out to Melinda (AKA:OMGWTF) for coming to compete in the tourney. No other 'girl' drove 8 hours by themselves to play in the tourney. Win, Lose, or Draw the girl is down to fight with the rest of em'! That say's a lot about her heart.

I'm not sure. I'll find out today. I couldn't have been more than 40. Maybe even closer to 30 players.

Can you tell me what time the matches start and when they are likely to end? Thanks

I think they start around noon today. 8 matches won't take too long so I'd get there soon if you are going to watch. Should be good timing though to catch the finals!
 
Where is California Billiards. You said OMGWTF drove 8 hours to get there and she lives in the LA area, so I assume CA Billiards is in the San Fran Area?

yeah he is! He was looking smooth and just running out! If he won.. he deserved it for sure! Plus, he's just a great guy.

I just left ... Max (winners side) and Tony Annagoni in the final. Tony beat Corey Harper to get to the final in a hill-hill match.

Tony has to win two sets in double-elimination format but Max has been pretty tough.

Max won beating Annigoni 9-2 in the finals. So Max gets the WPC 10-Ball spot and his expenses paid + he pocketed some "Mad-Max Money."

Final 4 results:

1st - Max Eberle
2nd - Tony Annigoni
3rd - Corey Harper
4th - George Michaels

Max is playing really well right now!

California Billiards is a really nice place with an ever incredible and accomodating staff! Real poolplayer friendly and knowledgeable folks there!

I had not been up there in 9 years - even then, I had not hit a ball there until 2 days ago.

It was great getting the chance to meet Cyrex, Jazz, and ABall!

I sure hope they have more tournaments up there. I'd love to go again!

Your cue is even nicer in person and both you and Max are pretty cool guys.

It's not chicken legs. My upper body is just so worked out and cut up that the legs looks skinny. LOL!

Joe, help me out. Need to bulk up the legs!
