1996 The Color of Money Earl vs. Efren vid

Did you know Mr. Willie Munson was on the set as a advisor for that movie. He's upset he never got credit for his contribution.

Best match ever. Both players played near perfect for over 200 racks. Earl broke down at the end, let his emotions get the better of him, but throughout the first two days, Earl plays possibly the best nine ball in the history of the game. And Efren is Efren. The best nine ball player ever versus the best all-around player ever, both at their prime? Spectacular.

Poor Earl, this was supposed to be race to 100 then it was stretched to 120.
He would have won the race to 100.
Efren down 87-104 one time and made a huge comeback.
Truth be told the split was 75-25, not winner-take-all.
About a year later, the promoter Bob Moore shot himself.
Efren's game, coincidentally, went down after this event. He quit smoking and he struggled with his game up until he won the world 9 in 1999.

Sorry if someone posted this already, but...

Someone posted the entire match on Youtube:

There was a thread about this match about six months ago. I think it was John Barton who posted a link to google video. The google one has it broken down into hour long (give or take) sections so you don't have to go through as much.

Also, if you download real player, you can download them to your computer and watch at your leisure.

If you thought that was amazing, you should see the SVB vs Alex P race to 100 TAR match. Incredible.
