Gorst is often as cool as a cucumber, but man, he has shown incredible fortitude to get to the final. Most players would’ve crumbled under the pressure he’s been under. Certainly SVB and Filler faltered badly, among other top names.

I don’t understand all the carping about attendance. I don’t care. This tournament has been fantastic. Been too mesmerized by the good play to think about an audience or lack thereof.

Agreed, I think we're a bit more concerned about the attendance just because it's the first year of many in the new venue and we'd all like to see pool thrive in new places, but the pool itself has been sensational and you couldn't dream up a better final than the one we're going to get.

Sit back and enjoy the show.
 
This is the perfect final IMO.
Two giants from different continents. Big names, not someone who manages to reach the final but then crumbles under pressure. It'll be fire 🔥

My money is on Eklent. Slightly more rested, fewer errors - it seems. I hope for a crazy match. Ill be dining though with the family. They probably wont agree with having the final on a big screen next to the table.

Couldn't have been better said. I credit the conditions for creating such a story. Well clearly Gorst gets just as much credit for overcoming. However imagine the cake walk without the decreased margin for error. This is what tight equipment and incredible players produces.

Agree with the whole thing is about the tourney and stellar play, and we've been treated this year. Just a shame that the locals are so indifferent.

Kaci's break and safety play will be tough for Fedor to fade, but Fedor's consistency and excellent fundamentals might just be the ticket to the finish line.

It makes it look bad to the whole world if the stands are empty. Even on the finals day they are nearly empty.

Contrast it with the event in Vietnam, they were packed every single day. The players were treated like rock stars.

Do you like going to play pool in a room that is jumping with customers? Or a room that is dead with 3 people playing?
 
That said, MR did a WAY good job with this. Doha was 1/10th the spectators. So a huge improvement. I am not as worried as I was when it was announced that it would be in Saudi Arabia for 10 years. I did not want another 10 years of Doha, regardless of the prize money.
