2024 World Pool Championship

It makes it look bad to the whole world if the stands are empty. Even on the finals day they are nearly empty.

Contrast it with the event in Vietnam, they were packed every single day. The players were treated like rock stars.

Do you like going to play pool in a room that is jumping with customers? Or a room that is dead with 3 people playing?

I’m not sure why they bother having spectator seats at all.

I'm sure that Matchroom is fully aware of the issue. They went to a lot of effort to have a good audience when they first ran the World Championship (Cardiff, Wales, ~2000). I suspect the local people in Jeddah failed on their end. It may take a year or two for the audience to build.

Interesting that Scott Frost is in the booth without Jeremy Jones and Karl Boyes.

Sure, we all want lots of fans, but I want the players to get paid first. The extra money also adds lots of pressure.

Once I am playing, I don’t care If anyone is watching. Once I am watching a great match, I don’t care about fans either.

Whatever the case, going to take awhile to build up an International audience.

A scrappy second game of the match. On a good note, the audience seats have filled up. Looks great!

What is Gorst doing with his extension? It's on for half the shots, and in his pocket for the other half. I've never seen anyone do that. I also can't find a pattern thus far for when he plays with/without it. Its a short extension, maybe 2-3" long.
