A FAR Cry from the 8' Sears Brand Pool Table...

I am totally jealous of you.. That is one hell of a table, and it looks great with that cloth on it too. Should be able to see the edge of the 6 ball easy... Somebody give me the 6!!!

That table makes me want to play. Does a really nice looking table with clean shiney balls do this for everyone?

Great Table!!!

Nice table, good score and I would think your neibhors are going to be complaining about the clicking of the balls LOL! :D

How do you sleep at night, knowing you stole that table for $1,500? :D

Glen

PS. Yes folks, the cloth I took off was installed by the factory!!!!
What do u think of the stock rubber on that table Glen?
They seem boingy to me and the profile reminds me of the old Murray and Gandy.
Kinda rounded not sharp like the Monarch cushions.

Way to go Alex, I only know you from the cue deal we did together, which was a good one, but you should be very proud of this table, I'm sure that you are.

I know how important a good pool table mechanical is in relationship to the long term use of a table. I got stuck with the brother-in-law of the pool table companies owner installing mine, and it has been a disaster. I would be happy if my table was assembled by Glen, Ernesto, Oscar, or Glen's second cousin, as long as it wasn't by the guy that actually did the work.

How did he fasten the cloth down....glue?
I don't see any staples. Also, great job on the corners...however he did it. My table mechanic has a series of staples lining the inside of the pockets. It doesn't effect the play at all, but a little unsightly.

I think they play great. Murry & Gandy used K66 cushions, and these cushion do come right out to a point, really nice too. I did have to remount 2 of the cushions though, and replace all the facings too...just junk!

Glen

PS. And had to belt sand the ends of the cushions to get tem flat before adding the facings, bad work from the factory.

I use a special contact cement that frees me up from having to rely on stapling the cloth on the backer boards, works out perfect if the backer boards are stapled out, broken, or missing, and I can install the cloth tighter than someone can staple it.

This is how to do the pockets:D

Ok, now I too am officially jealous....:o some nice table, some nice work and the steal on the price......  Enjoy:)

All the work done came to $400, cloth included, but a chicken dinner was included, not a chicken sandwich from SUBWAY!!!:p I'm collecting that dinner next time through;)

Glen

PS. With INTEREST!!:D

I can't wait! Glenn will be in my neck of the woods soon and will be doing the same to my table (K55, and Tourney Blue Simonis).

I too will be posting picks of my redone table. Instead of food though, I will try to get the price lowered by offering the King a few drinks. :p

Hey Hey now! I am going to cook you a feast next time you are in town. You better just not avoid me when you come through :D.

Saurus,
My impression of that thread was totally different.

I thought Glen just pointed out in a very polite way that Ernesto's work on a specific brand of table was non-standard (as it definitely is). Such tables will play differently (and it may be that many players like it that way). I thought he was very respectful to Ernesto; it is good for people to know.

Such discourse did not meet my definition of "trash talking".

I would be more inclined to agree with Williebetmore on his assessment of the previous thread.
