A good ultimate story

Am I on drugs?

Sunny is my heroine

..and yes, I do think you should call your own fouls.

pt..<..who was called a 'boy scout' in some action rooms...
..but didn't need a stake horse

Good going Sunny.

I have been in that situation before and I do the same. I just get mad at myself for doing whatever it was I did.

You should be very proud of her Mark. e all should be very proud of her. Calling a foul on yourself at anytime in pool is hard to do for most, but in a major tournament with the match/tournament on the line shows how classy Sunny is. Sunny is the very person to run a major tour. I don't know if she would want to run one but if she did it would be even ground for all the players. JMO. Johnnyt

Humbled and thank you :)

Wow... Thanks everyone with kind words... And I can't believe Mark posted it here :embarrassed2:

Trust me, it was one of the hardest thing to do - but it was the right thing to do in my mind and no one can change my stubborness to be an honest player! I was told by few experienced players after that I didn't that it's because I'm not competitive enough, didn't want to win it enough or they would had never done it if they were in my shoes. Many argued it's ref's job/ call to foul - you just shoot! And believe me I WANT to win as much as everyone else, but if I cheated I could never look at myself as a player - even if no one, not a single person in the crowd saw my foul...

I can always go to another tourney but my integrity cannot be replaced.

I accepted the fact I lost that match cause "I fouled - it was my careless mistake".

However, I feel like I won something much greater ;) Mark bragged to everyone who would listen all yesterday and this...

Thanks all. Next time I won't be so careless and just WIN :D

Sunny you did win when you fought down any urge to do the wrong thing. Mark is a lucky man and I know that goes both ways. You two are blessed. Happy Easter to you both.

you may have lost the match but i think you have gained respect from a lot of your peers. i know you have mine. there are a lot of players that would not do what you did.

keep your head hjgh and good luck in future tourneys.

Sunny you won the biggest prize of all, self respect. In addition to that you also won the admiration of your husband and countless others who all know how hard that was to do.

Very nice done :)
It's a rule and you shouldn't wait for someone to call a foul. If you keep playing, you're just a simple cheater and should be kicked out.

Having a strong moral code is something that I think has been on the decline over the years. I think you did great. Best wishes in future events! And very nice of Mark to report it all on this thread.

Just remember we never win or lose because of any one shot. It's a accumalatation of all our shot's,and our opponet's shot's. but you are definetly a winner.

Some times, the right thing is the most difficult thing to do...but you showed class and a very admirable outlook on it! You are still a WINNER!!!

Sunny,

I love to hear stories like this, you are the WOman! Nice going. And thanks for Mark for posting your great win.

Honesty is good for your game

If you call your own fouls, you stop making so many.
If you only have one way to win, your game is elevated.
Integrity, like courage, is available simply by asking for it.

Sunny, thought you might like to know your actions have
a practical application.

regards
pt..<...who found some players you couldn't turn your back on....
..were found 'wanting' under extreme heat

It's exactly what I would have done as I posted on the thread on one pocket.org. Got a lot of heat but I know it is the right thing to do.

Good for you.

Awesome!

I am really proud of my wife. Sunny was in a close match. She was behind 6to 5. The race is to 7.

She is playing pretty good and has good chance to run out to go hill-hill.

While getting ready to pull the trigger, her left arm just 'touched' a ball. Remember, ultimate 10-ball rules are all ball fouls.

Sunny stood up, calmed herself down ( she has a brutal desire to win) and tapped the cue ball with her cuestick.

Opponent and ref did not understand what happened - then realized she had called afoul on herself.

Cost her the game and match but her integrity is worth more than one win.

I am really proud of her.

That is how an honorable person plays an honorable game.

Integrity is such a rare quality in our profession. So rare in fact that when we see it, it stands out above all else.

Awesome job and kudos to you for giving her the credit that such an act deserves.

Carl

Great story Mark.

I also pride myself on things like that. I don't look at any of my trophies and say, "I screwed over so and so to win that one. I SLEEP WELL AT NIGHT." I'm sure Sunny does to.
