Archer vs. Souquet for "World 9-ball Domination"

Maybe race to 150 is better.

A 10k-20k prize would need to be put up - not their own dough. Promote it like a boxing match.

Many of their stats are similar: titles, MC appearances, age, blah-blah...

Both guys are great players but watching them play each other a race to 100 or 150 would be like staring into the sun for eight hours a day.

I really like Souquet's skills and game, but he is tedious to watch. Too slow. Archer can be the same way. In my opinion, most of the European players are slower. How much analysis does 9-ball require on road map type outs? That kind of slow play makes me appreciate Earl. He wastes no time, gets up there and fires balls in.

One thing is for sure, after a race to 100 with Archer participating, that table will be cleaner than ever.

Too slow?

30 second shot clock please....

Most amateur players play too quickly. Seeing the success that many pros have with a more methodical style is good for those learning the game. I've seen players that are much slower than either of those two boys! I don't mind at all that they take a few seconds longer, it also gives viewers more time to assess the table and learn some shot selection.
By the way, JA is an excellent player/coach, but at this point in their careers, I'd have to take RS in a match (most games)

While I agree that the vast majority of amateurs play too quickly.....These two well-respected world champions should be placed towards the opposite end of the speed spectrum....Their slow play can get to be at times very boring to watch.

I've always like the speed of Efren....not too fast...not too slow, even when a tough decision needs to be made, he makes it in a timely manner and takes the shot.

Love both players Corey, but put them both in the ring and I would rather get all my toe nails and finger nails ripped off one at a time with a pair of pliers than watch that match!!!

Opinions vary

myself, i would gladly pay to watch a long race between j.a. & r.s.

I was at the earl / shane match in ohio and also purchased the dvd set.
Didn't bother with the second match between them & glad about that.

To me it would be a pleasure to watch in person & purchase a dvd set of two class acts like j.a. & r.s.

Matches like that don't happen often enough.

Put a 30 (or even 45?) second shot clock and most fans would want to watch that match.
Myself, I would even gladly watch it without any shot clock.

Great players.....way too slow for a race that long....would be a slow death..lol

All these matches sound good.

Ralph Is perfect.
Johnny Is slow and Great
SVB has been seen before (for good reason) he gets up and plays

I want to see a show. Some old fashioned shoot from the hip fire power.
I want to see Dennis Hatch Vs Rodney Morris in a match some how.

Larry Nevel might also me a good one to get. He is as a good as a show as anyone.

Johnny and Ralf

With race to 150, they could also schedule Birthday parties, somewhere a long the match.:)

Prolly wont see these, But id like to see any of em!

Hatch vs stevie moore. Just cuz
SVB vs Lee van vs Wu vs Orcullo round robin races to 25 win by 2 for the title of BMFOTP.
Mitch ellerman vs chip compton, Bar table.
Jasmine vs XTP. I would watch a race to 300 lol
