ABR Special Report - French Press Conference

Yes, but one party is a member of the legitimate world of pro pool and the other has tired but failed to latch on to the world of pro pool.

Will every would-be stakehorse that is unable to come to terms with one or more pro players be given a platform with ABR even if they fall outside the boundaries of pro pool?

In what sense is a failed contract between an out-of-industry entrepreneur and a pro player the business of the pool media? In addition, why should I care what the billiard media thinks of this contract?

Maybe I'm missing the boat here, but this coverage doesn't seem to make sense.

Yes, you're missing the boat entirely. The interview with this clown is entirely pool related because it's the single biggest story in pool right now. Regardless of how anyone on here views this guy/situation they'll still tune in or check back to another 20 page thread to see how it turns out. Everybody loves a good train wreck. Do you honestly not get that or are you just pretending to not understand because you don't like this guy?

I'm always for an unbiased Fifth Estate. That is the way it should be. :)

Unfortunately, when it comes to presidential politics, the Fourth and Fifth Estates have gone wild. :embarrassed2:

I'm glad that pool's Fifth Estate is disseminating information, whether we agree or disagree, so that people can form opinions based on the horse's mouth rather than what they heard through the grapevine. ;)

Too often, folks may prejudge a situation without knowing the full story. That happens quite often in the pool world. :frown:

Horses' mouth accounts in matters such as this are most likely to be heavily tilted in favor of the Horse. An interviewer trained in deposition tactics will usually unravel the Horse's account. I prefer, and give more weight to, independent and factually supported information.

Only if you agree to hard-wire his nuts to a 12volt battery.

That way when he say's something stupid, you can zap him.

Better get a couple batteries, and make sure they have 750 BS cranking amps.

Over/Under for the first jolt is 16 seconds.

it's funny that people will talk about a guy, put him down, but not want to let him get on the record telling the story from his viewpoint.

Why should any of you be trying to censor David and tell him what he can and cannot put on his podcast?

Let it get done and be part of the record and then this episode will fade away.

No one has even remotely suggested what you claim.

The interview is complete and is being proccessed as you read this.
Will be posted in about an hour...I will update this thread

Thanks. Although I didn't like French's commentating, I certainly would like to hear his side of the story.

Thanks, Mr. Bond!

David, we appreciate fully the product regularly put out by ABR for the listening pleasure of everyone in pooldom. Your broadcasts are timely, insightful, educational and informative, and usually right in the middle of anything currently making loud noises (like this).

Please pass my thanks on to the dozens of people involved daily bringing your broadcasts to to public in a polished and professional manner.
(Oh wait....There aren't dozens)?

By the way, there is a big tournament at Shooters-Olathe February 18-21. Maybe it is time for you and the other David B to meet/stay at my home and discuss documents!

Thanks again.

Will Prout

John does like to talk.
But wow, this just got a whole lot more interesting.
Somebody been fibbing and it might surprise you who it is/was.

If you can't tell this guy is lying about the Ko match you're not a good judge of character.

Yeah, I just finished listening to the French interview....very interesting.

I'm sure that friends of Shane can confirm some of the details with him, but I think that everyone should listen to this interview.

I'll tell you, I really do believe what French said in the interview.

Yes, the contract was one-sided, but after hearing what French explained about Dennis, I can't say that I blame the guy for trying to protect himself.

Why do I now feel this way? Because the reality was the French was indeed paying for all of Dennis's expenses. Maybe the 50% of all of Dennis's earnings is high and French admitted that this might be the case. But I do believe that Dennis was well aware of what was in the contract.

The fact of the $6500 that Dennis took for DCC, when in fact he had a free ride at DCC says a lot. Including the fact that he never told French that he had a free ride at DCC. And they still haven't given French his $6500 back! The whole Ko match was set up by Dennis and Dennis is the one that had no problem with deceiving the public on what was in the middle, including refusing to refund the stream because the match wasn't as advertised.

It was also clear from the Dennis interview that he is the one that didn't care if the 100k match was for the full amount either. I'm really glad that I listened to the interview.

The only thing that French appeared to really mess up on as far as the public is concerned is to not have included what he would need to provide to Dennis in the contract. But you know what, it appears that French was paying everything one would expect to give to Dennis, and even more. So I'll cut him some slack on the crazy contract.

Thanks for those that put the interview together.

I think he's being honest. Sorry. So you believe that French backed the Steinway match? I don't.

EDIT: Please list specifically what you think he lied about.

The truth shall set you free

John keeps saying once he gets his 6.5K back but at one point says he gave SVB and DO 10K each. Shane returned his money, why is he not going after the 10K from Dennis?

There are just so many holes in this.

Yeah, that point isn't totally clear. But in the Dennis interview, Dennis indicated that French was going to also give Dennis 10k, but it seemed like maybe Dennis hadn't yet received it. Someone I'm sure can ask either Dennis or French about this.

Easy way to find out. Ask Manny at Steinway and or Ustate Al if the stream money went to Dennis as French said..... If that holds water then the rest of his story is plausible
