Addicted To Cues

Was looking for help with my addiction to cues, so I went to cue addicts . com & almost bought a cue- they are no help at all.:D But seriously though how many other people have it as bad as i do. Have purchased about 25 to 30 cues since NOV. 07 2 this week alone a gus szam & a searing, 3 haleys around VF time frame, 4 other searings, manzino, mottey, southwest, josswest, pfd, bobby hunter, gilbert, tad the list goes on. Please let me know that I'm not alone with this terrible addiction.
Congrats on your great collection.. Keep your homeowners insurance up to date ....:)

He's giving solid advice here. I was hit for 30k in cues
last year (They didn't find where the best ones
were stored), so what did I do??

Bought another 30k worth with
the insurance check, only this time it was
fewer cues than before.

Now I sold most of them, and have 6 left,
and this vicious cycle will continue until
I start going to those damn CA meetings
(it is kinda like a coke addiction isn't it??)

i see a business opportunity here :D

we got one therapist and one soon to be addicted in this post alone, 9 more addicts in the post and 1183 over at the wanted/for sale section. and that's only azb.

but to lobby against the cue builder association would suck..

I'm working through my cue addiction. I have actually sold a few lately but I keep buy them too. The way I see it, if I sell a cue a week for two years, I will be down to a manageable 40 or so.

If I just stay off of AZB, Ebay, and not answer my phone, I can kick this habit.

.......??

I really fail see the humor or the seriousness of this thread. I have to say I am shocked:eek: that you would start and others would even participate in this type of thread. I ask you:

Are we not reasonable men???
Are we not masters of our own destinys??
Are we not responsible for our addictions??

Jason........it gives me great joy and sorrow to learn of your addiction....sometimes I wish life was fair and still some remain unaddicted.....and still some remain unaddicted......................

We the addicted....(what a relief to get that off my chest) need to open our hearts and minds and be compassionate of those that have failed to let their potential cue addiction free upon the world and dwell in the light of cueness....oh my friend I say to those that are unafflicted...

As I walk through the valley of darkness I shall have no fear.... for I carry a Searing,Szamboti,Showman,Gina,Manzino,South West,Tad,Palmer and the knowledge that my affliction is in my marrow and my strength lies in the comfort that I shall never be unafflicted.

So I say to you Jason and and all of your brothers ...embrace your addiction and go out...go out and free it upon the world....

But, never never get in my way when a Searing,Showman,Szamboti or a Manzino appears in this world........for my wrath shall, shall be............

I just need to point out that "addiction" has such a negative connotation how about any of these synonyms:
habit, compulsion, dependence, need, obsession, craving, infatuation, bent, craving, fixation, hang-up, hook, inclination, obsession, sweet tooth, thing
:D

It's better to be addicted in collecting cues than addicted on Drugs and Gambling...atleast collecting cues you will appreciate the work of arts of every individual cue makers :)

Good advice. I'm trying to narrow my collection to searing, szamboti[either one] and haley. but the problem is there's also showman, tascarella, hercek, bushka, gina, WHY WONT IT STOP

It won't stop until you buy a Cuetec.:D

Can someone be addicted to cues and broke at the same time?
Man, what can we call that? I'm really up **** creek without
at paddle.

BTW Jun, cute dog in the picture, but please put your old avatar back up.:D

I agree, a wife could fix your problem. But having that medicine is bittersweet :)
The problem is that mine likes cues, she is on her way [4 hours away] to pick up my GUS as I'm typing. I think she is gonna be happier to go see D. Searing when i get home than to see me.:D two cue junkies living together it will never work.

boy and we thought denise need an intervention ?

I would say that rather than call it an Addiction, it's really an Obsession.

You do things that make you happy :D

And what greater joy is there than the want of a certain cue, then the hunt and finally after the check has been sent.............the wait :D

Then you get it and wow, you look at it and fondle it. :p

Then you start thinking about another cue and it starts all over again. ;)

Great fun

Looks like we got another one.

I've thought about this long and often, because I've been addicted to buying cues for years.
The only real problem I've had with it is that I rarely play with the same cue for a length of time, and that's probably not the best thing for your game.
I'm quite sure it's a real addiction, though.
Everytime I think I'm done buying new cues, one just pops up and it seems like I've GOT to get it.
It's really the best addiction you can have, as long as you don't overstep your financial means.
At least I've found a place like this, where a bunch of people can relate.
Being in Hollywood, and talking about addictions, and saying "I think I'm addicted to buying pool cues" they'll look at you pretty strange :)

What kind of cues do you have?

Addicted to cues

I'm not a medical doctor or anything but I do have a fix for you. You are welcome to visit my website (www.triplecrosscues.com) and see if there is a one for you. I evidently missed you folks at VF in March. If you saw me at VF you saw that I'm very competitive (pricewise) with the other cue builders. I've just gone national during the past two years and am now in ten states east of the Mississippi. I look forward to talking to you.

My friend....your thoughts and concerns have compelled me to ponder at the precipice of my essence and to meditate upon my affliction.............. I find solice and resolve in my affliction.

Your thoughts and concerns have my deepest appreciation, may the wind be beneath your wings and may the pollen of life caress your shoes.

Until that time
