Allison Fisher or Jean Balukas?

Perhaps that's true, though that's not a WPBA event. Still, very impressive.
Your right I was talking about the WPBA Tour, but if true getting a 7 pack in a Championship event proves she can do it also. Johnnyt

Karen ran a full four in one of the last matches on her way to winning the L.A. Classic that I put on at Hollywood Park in 2000. That's the most I remember. Of course I have only been to a fraction of the WPBT events. One of the statisticians on their tour may know more.

Allison ran maybe three racks against Loree Jon at the Bicycle Casino years ago. I have a feeling she has run quite a few threes, and maybe more. I bet she would remember any memorable runs. I'm going to ask her next time I see her.

Actually, I saw Allison Fisher run 4 racks once, and I remember that cuz I was making a point to a new fan that the women could play. And I specifically counted the racks run and noted it to him at the time. It was in the LA area definitely. :p possibly Commerce ? or Bicycle Casino ? I forget which.

That was the tournament at the Bike. You're right, it was four racks, because we were all talking about it. It was Allison's first win over here. I had picked Loree Jon to beat her, but what do I know.

Allison opened our eyes that night, and we haven't closed them yet.

I do not know of even one six pack in WPBA classic tour history (meaning 1993-present), and the only five pack I know of was that of Robin Dodson at the 1996 Brunswick Classic. Given that her break is her achilles heel, it seems most unlikely that Allison has ever run a six pack in competition. Of course, if a witness comes forward, that changes everything. Anyone?

In Kelly's first WPBA win I think she ran seven racks in a row from her break. I don't know if this counts since it was over the course of two matches but they were consecutive racks from her own break.

I have presonally been on the other end of numerous five packs by Kelly Fisher. And she beats the nine ball ghost and the ten ball ghost without ball in hand after the break.

I'm sure Allison, Karen & others have run many 4-5 packs, but I believe what Mike meant, Jean run those packs against top men and at that time the conditions must have been bit harder also. Don't know about the pocket size, but meaning the cloth, balls, racking etc..

Yes, Jay, put some Balukas to YouTube...

What difference does it make who's sitting in the chair watching them run racks...a guy or a gal. Johnnyt

Trivia question

I asked johnny Ervolino one time when he was at my house who was better jean or Allison? He told me Jean would have robbed her. He said she broke the balls way better than Allison and she played like a man!!

Here's a trivia question: Who was the first male Jean played when she decided to play on the men's tour?

I'll save everybody some time and answer now, it was me. It was in St Charles IL. She beat me playing 9ball 11 to 2 and shot an accu-stats rated, plus 900. She even apologized for pummeling me so badly. My shame was short-lived because Mike LeBron was her next opponent and she smashed him too, along with a few other top-rated players, finishing in the money in a very deep field.

I can't believe Jean won't come out of retirement for us to see her play Allision and compny...doesn't she read AZBilliards? Someone send her an e-mail, I'm sure she just doesn't know how much we care. Johnnyt

I had the fortune of sweating a match or two with Jean, and we talked as if we were old friend, even though I never met her before. She pretty much said that she didnt' have the passion for the game anymore, and the "fine" that she got in 1988 was a good excuse to step away from the game. She still was playing softball or some other sport, and I believe she hurt her knee.

We talked about the idea of matching up with Allison (since everyone else on the internet asks her),and she talked about it being interesting only in that she'd have fan support rather than what she endured vs. the men and vs. the women. But, she also didn't have any interest in actually doing any comeback. Then.... she whispered... "not winner take all."

I think it is interesting that both Jean and Allison (who I photographed twice and know fairly well) are both gracious, classy and charismatic. Also both have a really great sense of humor...
I wonder if this ability to laugh, helps them to deal with competition? I don't know, I just think it is an unusual quality that they share...

Oh and Karen is pretty funny too, in her own shy way.

Sorry, I don't know how. I can't even get a photo on here. A total retard!

She did play in some televised matches, I am pretty sure. And when she was around 9 she was on the Mike Douglas show.

She was on many of the shows that were live from NY. Ed Sullivan, Johnny Carson to name a few. Johnnyt

Her famous match with Robin was on ESPN.

Pretty sporty! I am curious to how long the ghost races are. Big difference race to 50 vs. race to 9. Or better yet, 10 ahead!

There were at least 2 televised (ESPN or Prime Ticket) matches from the Resorts 9-Ball tournament. In the finals she beat Fran Crimi 8 or 9 to 1. 1st prize was 10k, 2nd was like $1500 :( .
