Now why would anyone in their right mind want to buy this business that KT has started and is over 3 million in the hole already and pay 150 million to boot for it. Just don't make sense. I can understand 1 company buying another and also getting all of their debt. So another question comes to mind. If KT does indeed sell the IPT to Mr HO. Then who owes the players the money for Reno. KT or Mr HO. The debt was incurred when KT owned it. So why would Mr HO buy it and pay off KT's large debt. KT, in my opinion should have never held the Reno tournament if he knew he was selling and the players would have to wait for MR HO to put his money into the IPT's account so they could get paid. KT, should have been forth right with the players and told them this from the start. Then we would not have this problem and infighting going on.................................mike

Not at all, I am saying if he is such a great con man and he chose pool players to con.............I don't get it. It is a much easier sell to think he loved pool an attempted something huge. Didn't count the cost and got in over his head.
I'm not an expert on con artists, but I believe that the con artist usually invests his own money initially, putting up a front to make his con believeable and more appealing to the victims. Pryamid schemes are initially funded by the con artist until he finds enough victims to carry the payments, even pool hustlers often lose their own (or backers) money while setting up a score. In the movie "The Sting" (I know it was a movie), they spent a fortune setting up the con before they got to the "payoff".
Time will tell
Of course, this drama hasn't totally played out, so we don't really know who the final "mark" will be, right now it's the players, maybe later on, the elusive Ho, or perhaps the "public", as in "public offering", or maybe the scam completley fails and the con man loses.
Or what if..................the unheard of happens..............a real long shot!!
The biggest "tell" that this is a con is the man himself, KT. Personally, I find him impossible to root for.
I deeply regret that the player payouts
have had to be put on hold until this acquisition has been officially
completed. I totally understand and acknowledge your frustration and
concern. Please be aware that unfortunately this was an unavoidable
situation due to many factors that are extremely complex in relation to the
enormous nature of this deal.

He is not getting "slammed" so much for late checks. He is getting slammed because he lied about checks being in the mail, when they in fact, were NOT in the mail. And, he is also getting slammed for showing total disrespect to the players by not communicating with them. Given his history of conning desperate, sick people into buying placebo pills and books based on placebo cures, you would think all you "positive" folks would understand our pessimism on his intentions.
You call it optimism. In this particular case, I call it self delusion.

Thats not how you beat the polygraph...... youre supposed to clench your sphincter when you tell the truth to drive your heart rate up to match it when you lie......... ask KT, he'll tell ya....That is the "secret" of every successful salesperson, anyone who ever beat a polygraph (lie detector) test, and especially every smiling con man.
Colin Colenso said:There seems to be a growing army of negavibe know-alls frequenting this forum now, that seem to assume that every single thing that KT said is either a lie or an extreme embellishment.
Sure he spins things a tad, and criticism for the payments in waiting are deserved.
But keep in mind that much of what KT has told us has happened. The 3 biggest events in history have happened. Significant broadcasting has been achieved.
So I think it's arrogant to assume every word is bollocks. I guess we'll know a little more about the future of the IPT come Tuesday, and there are reasons to be a little worried. But fact is no one here really knows what is going on.
If this merger goes ahead and the IPT becomes a public company, then it would seem to be a somewhat impressive milestone for the sport.
Personally I don't think there is enough evidence to suggest that the IPT is doomed to failure, even though I have concerns about some areas of management, PR, communication etc.
Until I learn more I'll keep my fingers crossed and pray they can make the IPT a successful business.
One thing I'm sure of is that KT has worked bloody hard and turned over a lot of stones that people in the pool game haven't even looked at before. Not all stones revealed a treasure, but you never learn by not trying.
If the players do not get paid and 2007 members do not get their 100k, KT will deserve strong criticism for dishonesty. A delayed payment is forgivable however.
So hold onto your hats until Tuesday's announcement comes in and further information is forthcoming.
