Another 60

As the Miz said " I didn't deserve that", or maybe I did.:(

"Yes, you did."

LOL

Good run.

The last rack wasn't much fun. You had a real schitt break shot and the balls just stayed there. You seemed a bit preoccupied with getting the 11 off the rail, and I thought it was premature to start thinking about that while you still needed to find a way to get back into the balls. I thought the correct move was to pocket the 12 and get on the 5 to go back into the stack, but you probably had a better read on it from where you were looking at it. That was a great shot on the 8!!! It's too bad the cue ball wasn't on your side.

I am thinking about putting a vdeo together and titling it - "Things you can learn from watching Marop".

There is a definite "Mr. 400" influence to your game, but like I said to you earlier, if you start wearing pink shirts in these videos, I'm not watching.

:D

You read my mind. I was trying to bump the 11 so the cue ball would stay in that area and I would have a shot on the 5 to go into the stack. My mistake was I hit it with high instead of center ball and whiffed the 11.

I figured that controlling the rock was a problem. Great run, keep them coming!

Nice shooting! I thought for sure when you got a little out of line you would have gone into the balls pretty firmly instead of trying to bump the 11.

I thought about it, but if I hit the 12 hard it for sure runs into the 11 and I have no idea where the cue ball would be going, more than likely it would have gone around the stack and ended up in the kitchen.

After looking at the video, Schmidty said I should have shot the one in the side and dragged the cue ball towards the bottom of the stack instead of playing for the 12. I would have had a couple more options and I might have fallen of the 5 at that time.

John is usually correct, oh well, maybe next time...

ive had many runs end because i do something silly.its the nature of the game, all runs end with i coulda woulda shoulda.
all in all your playing great and making so many smart moves that you have come along way in a year time.
that fact that you run 60 and a guy like blackjack or myself might have shot one or two balls differently means your playing real good.
again great shootin bud now lets see another 60 plus.

John: You're a great friend. Marop is lucky to have you pulling for his next big run. I wish everyone could have someone like you in their corner.

I agree 100%.

I really enjoy watching Bill play this game! Its a joy to watch how his game has grown over the past few years!

Whenever I get a notice that there is another one of his runs uploaded, I know that I will see the results of his hard work and dedication, and the fact that he listens and applies the knowledge that he has found. I also know that I am going to hear some good music - this run had Cougartown playing in the background - come on... who doesn't love cougars?

John, I hope you're doing well and getting better and stronger. Just so you know, I've recently completed the commentary on your 154 at last year's DCC - that was a great run - you deserve another round of golf for that one!

Oh. C'mon, John. Impossible to not like?

I've just about had it with him.

He calls me up and says, "I'm through. I don't have it anymore. Time to sell the cue." , and then explains how he only had 20 or 30 runs that day from 30-50, but he can't get over the hump.

Meanwhile, I'm running 6s.

Well played, Bill. Keep up the good work. I'm proud to be a member of your already impressive, but still growing, contingent of supporters.

I have to say this 14.1 forum is growing to be my favorite. Not just because I like the game but it seems like there is no bickering here. Also its awesome that you can post a video of yourself and get feed back from a pro! I get my table next month and I plan on setting up a camera and recording my runs. If I were to post one a week on here would you guys be willing to help me out???

I can run 30's on a regular basis so I am not horrible. I honestly feel this game has helped me understand position play way more than any other. Thats the part of my game I have been working on for the last 2 years. I already shoot straighter than most short stops.

Anyways I will keep watching and learning. Hopefully you guys will keep watching and teaching!

On this forum, you can post a link to a video of yourself playing, and receive feedback from John Schmidt, Danny Harriman, Steve Lipsky, Dan Barouty, Stu Mattana, Lou Figueroa, Bob Jewett, Bobby Chamberlain, Grady Mathews, Eddie Robin, George Fels, 3 time World Champion and BCA HOFer Ray Martin, future world champion Dennis Walsh, etc etc etc etc.

Those are only the people that actively post. I am sure that many others are lurking - some of them are current and former WORLD CHAMPIONS at 14.1. IMO, that makes this best and most informative forum on this site.

Go ahead and post a video, and check out some of the 14.1 evaluations I have done for others. They are posted on Veoh and Youtube - and you can find most of them posted within the archives of this forum.

cool thanks Black Jack! Gotta get my table first. Expect to see my first video by December.

Mr. 60

Seems I'm stuck in the 60's, no, not the 1960's, or maybe I am.

I followed up the 65 with an even 60 last night. This run was much smoother with better patterns but the ending was brutal. As the Miz said " I didn't deserve that", or maybe I did.:(

Poor Bill: He called me up a while ago and told me how the balls hadn't cooperated with him and he had been stopped at 57 today.

I think we are starting to see a pattern.

Great shooting Bill!
You make it look so easy that you can watch TV while you play!

My brain is frying and sizzling and if I tried to watch TV at the same time I believe I would be a raving lunatic in no time at all.....

What is the deal on the cue ball after that 1st rack that allows you to take the cue ball to the kitchen and sink the 5 in the side doing a GREAT break all at once?

Was the cue ball in the rack and did you put it there on purpose?
If so I have learned a GREAT lesson today watching you....it never occurred to me to do that.
