Point and shoot. No vibrations just a solid hit. At first sight I wasnt sure if I liked the shafts continous taper. But once I started playing...I forgot about it easily. Im just an intermediate player runs an occassional rack or two I have hit with many cues in various price ranges...and this is no doubt the best playing cue that I've hit with. Not sure if that quantifies anything...but I like it a lot and it will probably be my permanent playing cue.
Salamander said:Well, I've never hit with one of these cues, but I can take one look at that taper and tell you right now I'd hate it. The point being is that hit is indeed subjective. You'd be better served talking about the construction, fit, finish.
deanoc said:what does it take to get you guys happy?everyone who bought the cue is happy, they are the only ones who could provide testimony in a court of law, then along comes manoth and says your honor it just can't be because i don't think it could be. Lets face fact you wanted your fellow az people to respond, they did inlarge numbers.
you were afraid it wasn't an honest offer yet the customers are happy.
I have never said a prototype would sell for $1500,that will be our introductory level custom cue.
I may be wrong but you guys are acting like you think you are smarter than all of these people who bought the cues, tried them out,and liked them.
I am inviting the critics to admit the fact that their fears were unfounded,I don't ask them to say the cue plays good without trying it,but how can they deny it without hitting it.
The fact is,the cues are not available now,we have done what no other cue maker has ever done,we have submitted our cue at a reasonable price to be tested. We put our money where our mouth is.In my day this was considered an honorable way to do things.

I'm happy for all those involved with this venture and hope they keep these cues for ever. I hope Deano realizes that probaly 80% of the custom cue collectors dont even give a crap how they play, there pieces of art work and it will be interesting to see what kind of work these new 1500 models have in them .![]()

Take it for what it's worth, I have no interest in the Deano cue. For $300 it was worth a flyer. Not worried about "we told you so". Pick one up and try it. If you want to buy mine, PM me.KCarson1 said:EGO and not wanting a little bit of "we told you so" thrown their way.
Anyone wanting to sell their Deano, please PM me.
JB Cases said:Well there you go then. Folks I have all the $59 sneaky petes for sale that you ever want.
Craig can you tweak any of my Sneaky Petes to "hit" like a Scruggs, Southwest, Bushka, Sugartree, etc....?
I have watched this whole thing from it's inception and from the inception the sale of these cues has not been about the fact that it's a plain cue. It's been about the idea that Dean believes he has a cue that outplays other cues.
Yes, he chose an unconventional approach to the sale of the cues but it's unfair to make a blanket characterization that the cue is only "worth" so much because it's a Sneaky Pete style cue.
The idea that we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover comes to mind. When it comes to the real quality of a cue and it's "hit" price and appearance do not matter. Only balance and feel are what matters.
I think it's unfair to characterize people who bought this cue as suckers.
I don't think that Dean could have laid it out any plainer in his sales pitch.
And it is not as if he is delivering a "plain" sneaky pete bought for $50 and repackaged. So it's not a scam which is what "suckers" are victims of.
I seriously doubt that Dean is getting rich off of these cues at $300 per cue. I believe that you know full well what it takes to make a cue at all and to do one that satisfies people who have experience with top cues is even harder.
I doubt that there will be many, if any customers for the plain model at $1500. This cue however seems so far to the deliver the "hit" that Dean promised and that is what he was selling, not a piece of lumber. (Edit: the $1500 model won't be a plain jane sneaky.)
JB Cases said:No problem. Craig can tweak it for you. Give him a name and you will get a cue with that "hit".
