Another new Showman

I've been working on this project, ever since Tate posted pictures of John Davis' blanks on this site, ever so long ago. I asked John Showman if he would be interested in building the cue and he said "why not?" The original blank was sent back because it was not the veneer combination I requested, JS requested the replacement blank have the points lower, similar to blanks he purchased from Burton, where the wrap is 1/2 inch from the maple.

I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. I can't thank John Showman enough for working with me on this!

Here are a few pictures.

thats real nice, John does great work and with a Davis blank it makes that cue triple special. did you get the screw on tips?

That really came out GREAT! I like the look with the shorter points - it looks like the original Spain classic color combination - that's my favorite too. Both John's are good people, that's for sure!

Nice...

John's Logo on his Caps look cool...
The Cuemaker makes the best Caps..
Good Choice..

This is yet another great example why Mr. Showman is one of the very best cuemakers out there. No offense to any other cuemaker. He does exceptional work with the finest attention to detail. I have held two of his cue in my hands and loved both of them.

Congratulations to you Sir!

Sweet looking player, Thanks for sharing. It is great to see John getting some cues in people's hands. His work is rght up there with the best of the best these days.

I look at just about all the cues pictured on this site. I usually never comment on them because someone always says what I'm thinking but i must say something about this cue. I would say this is understated elegance. It is so simple that it just sits there and you must look at it.Sometimes less is more. While i appreciated the design and effort it takes to load up a cue with inlays and such i think some get to the point where they are just plain gaudy. This cue does it with simple beauty.
Outstanding!

What a beauty....I love the veneer colors, John Showman really puts 100% into his cues.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. This cue plays really nice!
I’ve been reading posts for years about how nice john’s cues play, and the anticipation was killing me. Well, I wasn’t let down. It’s been about a week since I received the cue and I’ve been playing as much as I can. As you all know, “hit” is hard to explain and very subjective. The feedback is wonderful, I love the shaft taper, and I really like the look of the short ivory ferrules. (I couldn’t tell you the difference between these and John’s 1” ivory ferrules, other then they’re half the length, but, I like them.)
I have a fancier Showman in the pipeline, someday I’ll post a review about that one.
John, thanks for working with me on this one, the pleasure is all mine.
