Another USPS nightmare...

dhl dosen't deliver a lot of their parcels!!!! I would know, they bring them to me at the post office to deliver for them. Maybe that's why they seem so efficient.....

Ok, I know there are a lot of angry mobsters lining up their sights at usps, and judging from your problems I don't blame you. What I do know is that if you want to send anything and have it tracked, use either registered mail or signature conformation. Registered mail is the most secure mail delivery usps has. The item is under lock and key for most of it's journey. As for sign. conformation, you know the very day and time the package reaches each point on it's journey, including it's final destination. If you value the contents of your package, ALWAYS insure the item. It's the only way to guarantee you get your money in case of damage.
OK TROOPS- FIRE AWAY!!!!
LOL alot of us ship enough packages we should start our own shipping Co.
One sure thing is : There is no sure thing !!!;)

Shipping anxiety

I hate the times when I am either waiting for a cue to arrive at my door or waiting for delivery of a cue I have shipped. Anxiety is about the only way I can describe it. Sitting and not knowing the status of a cue really sucks.

As of right now, between Fedex Overnight and USPS Express mail, it's a flip of a coin.

"Bama", I wish you the best of luck. :)

Oh jeez... I just shipped a cue out today USPS Priority Express and the person who was receiving it said to ship Express. I just assumed he meant Priority Express, I didn't know there was a difference. Ugh... anyway, I have never had a problem with USPS and all my packages have been delivered on time to me and from me... knock on shaft wood ;) Good luck Bama, I have a good feeling your shipments will get there once the Post Office gets thier collective heads out of thier ass.

Cheers,
Jim

Be careful with FED-EX

I have a friend high up in Fed-Ex that informs me confidentially that nothing is insured over 200.00 value even if you purchase for more. Their insurance is a scam!
Joe I feel for you, hope everything works out!

Fedex

I've used nothing but fed-x tube, standard overnight delivery, and priority overnight delivery. I have never had a package even remotely late, and certainly never lost....(yes I just knocked on wood)... I will say that I've received a number of shipment when buying, shipped by priority USPS overnight, and they too have arrived on schedule. The best to you,
and hoping for quick resolve & peace of mind.

I agree with Brett here. Fedex is the most reliable shipper in my opinion. I was sent something by USPS priority with tracking once and I received the package (luckily) before the tracking number was even available.

I usually use their 2-Day or Saver service and have never had a problem so far. Overnight is the best, although a little more expensive. Cues are, in general, and expensive item, so I don't mind paying extra for Fedex. However, I am not a dealer, and I am not shipping cues daily. If one is shipping a lot of cues, (like Joe) it does run into more substantial cost.

Declared Value - Not

This is true, I have experience with FEDEX insurance, they will say do you want to insure the item at the store but it is really described as "Declared Value" They will sell you the declared value and when you try to collect they will say that the declared value is not logical for a pool cue and force you to sue them to get your claim. They are generally very efficient but declared value is a big scam.

DJ-Yes that is right. I do a lot more receiving than I do sending.
The stuff received usps express, always arrives by 11:30 (heretofore).
I like the Fed-x thing cause they pick up right here, and I’ve always got
the way bills lying about. Very easy.. if I weren’t so lazy, Id save close
to half and move it by usps overnight. Certainly if I moved more stuff where
the cost did become more of a factor, believe it would be USPS overnight, unless requested otherwise by recipient. I always feel a bit chubbed with doing a trade, the other guy ships usps overnight, he pays 25 or so, I move fed-x w/added value fee, end up paying 60 or so, and they both arrive at about the same time.

Since were bashing the PO today I just wanted to thank Hunter here on az for sending me my Madden cue priority mail from az. on a friday and Monday morning I had the cue in my hands. The package was wrapped great and Had The Correct Address and was delivered super fast. It's nice in todays world were someone takes the time to acually spell everything right and neatly. You couldn't count that high the many times I have been handed mail with a wrong address and asked if I know where it is supose to go and made sure they got it,every fu@k*n day! You know what,I'll pass the word along how appreciative everyone is here on az and the next time a item has a screwed up address I say send it to China and let them figure it out. Thieves,liars,.....sounds to me like your all talking about pool players. I know alot of people who wont even go out to play anymore because of all the low lifes they have to rub elbows with. Why do you think pool is at the bottom of the barrel. There have been a few high end collectors even who have walked away from this pool world because of the elements surrounding it,anyone remmeber icon! Oh,I'm sorry, just venting:D :D :D
LOL

same problem

Hey Joe,

Had the same issue some time back, was ready to refund money but item was delivered around the 15th day! Good luck

When I mailed Snorks a cue , it showed up 4 months later at my local post office that I had origianly mailed it from. It had been there 3 times in the 4 months and each time was sent on a road trip to God knows where, only to return again. I just happend to inquire about it's whereabouts when it was in the Post Office....... I have never had UPS lose a package. Was just mailed a cue from 30 miles away by USPS and it took 6 days to get here

Fed Ex - local utilities

It burns me up when having utilities installed, they say will be there between 8am and 5 pm. Fed ex is the same way for a residence.
you never know when to expect them and they know I have nothing better
to do than wait around all day for the package. USPS gets here every day around the same time. Sounds like Express Mail from now on

I am going to do something different. Although this is the first time I have had an issue (except for one Express Mail problem), I really don't like the "You have to wait until 14 business days pass before we can trace it" thing really irks me. Seems like the sooner you traced it, the easier it would be to locate.
Joe

Joe,

I'm sorry about your issue.

From my personal experience, I've never had an issue with USPS shipment sending or receiving (knock on bacote, ebony or rosewood wood).

I find USPS priority and Express mail to be most cost effective and convenient, FOR ME. Granted, priority mail doesn't really offer in transit tracking, but for the money, I find it reasonable. If I really want to be sure, I send is Express and insured.

However, please do share if you find another good shipper.

USPS is loaded with theives.I had $5000 cash stolen from me,and I know of an offshore casino(i used to do some work for one)that does cash mailings on a regular basis, and was robbed for over $100,000.my friend was robbed for $60,000.The safest and unfortunately most expensive way to ship anything id Fedex overnight.I have on multiple occasions tried to track down my package which was shipped to me USPS Priority and the always give me the run around. The workers all stick together and cover for the pthers.Everything inside the store is videotaped,so they can pinpoint the crime to the driver, yet he says he didn't do it?The whole company is a joke, and basically can't get into trouble b/c they are the government. Now that they have gone up to $25 for overnight pool cues, all of us should start using Fedex.I know some here will say,"you are a fool for mailing cash" maybe so but i had to do it at the time, and we tried using USPS instead of Fedex b/c they were 3-4 times cheaper. That was our only mistake. We never once had a problem with Fedex.Sorry this is so long winded, but it is true the USPS can not be trusted they are liars and theives.I know for a fact.I am not a Fedex rep,but they are the most dependable and trustworthy of them all.Good luck with the cues Joe.

Let's be honest here. If you or your friends were sending large cash amounts through any type of mail system, you almost CERTAINLY were doing something illegal. Who knows, perhaps you were attempting to dodge taxes?

I'm sorry. I don't have much sympathy for yah if you were doing something illegal and got your money stolen.

Russ

i guess you have never done anything illegal.betting on a pool game is illegal or maybe you are a funzy player.at the time it was completely legal to wager on sports at overseas sportsbooks.the monies were settled in cash.not sure about taxes but most people who bet on ball games with bookies or offshoe sportsbook don't pay takes.most of them lose anyway.it is pretty hard to lay -110 and pay taxes on top of it,but you sound like a real nice guy.thanks for your compassion and your SYMPATHY.

Sorry to hear of your woe, Joe. Except for a Predator shaft snapped in half, I have had very good luck with DHL.

DHL is fairly priced and seemingly honest, but not as effecient as the others, unless you have an account with them.

Actually, you need to look up the threads on the legality of betting on pool. They are numerous, and pretty much all agree that in MOST states, a wager on a game of skill between two people is perfectly legal. Thanks for asking. Nice try but noooooooooooooooooooooooo cigar!

And I am pretty sure that I haven't done anything illegal that would carry a sentence of multiple years in prison, like what you and your friends have done. The fact that if you have only "broken even", you can easily write off gambling winnings up to the amounts of your losses makes what you did extremely stupid. If you in fact won, your views on what is "fair" for the government to take in the form of taxes is totally irrelevant.

For your sake, here's hoping you never get caught, because purposely sending cash through the mail system to avoid taxes shows premeditation with the goal of income tax evasion, and I'm pretty sure you'd go away fro a pretty long time.

What's even funnier, is that you don't even realize that those "thieves" did you a favor. If they had been honest, and turned over your packages to the proper authorities, you'd probably be in prison right now.

Who is this Rus Chewin? You need to get a picture brother. Joe was just sendin some cues. You belong on another planet!
