OK Guys, I have some good news. Danny is doing better. I don't want to say much
better, or great, but he's better. The fluid in his lungs is pretty much gone. He is
awake and talking, but not alert and strong. Yesterday was a whisper, and today at
least his voice was there a bit. His throat is sore from the tubes that were in there
for the past week. His heart and lungs are good. Since he was on dialysis, his kidneys
stopped working. The main thing is to get them to start going again. Tomorrow they
will be taking him off of dialysis to see if the kidneys will start up again. If they do,
Danny will be on his way to recovery. I will be heading down hopefully tomorrow to
actually have a little chat with our friend. Very good news guys. I hope to have more
good news soon.

he might could use this for recovery/therapy, and CueBuddy's got some custom cues!

I'm telling you those tubes can be damned unpleasant.
Several years ago I was at the pool hall and had downed several adult beverages. At closing time I went out to my car to go home. I didn't feel too well so I sat down near the rear wheel to catch my breath and the next thing I new it was morning and I had a garden hose stuck down my throat. Someone must have thought I was a gas tank.
I'm glad Danny is feeling better. Thanks for the update.

I have great news. Danny is doing much much better. He's been transferred out of the
ICU, and is now in a regular room. He is up and about, and walking with the aid of a
walker. His Kidneys have started working on their own, and they should take him
totally off of dialysis today. His voice is still hoarse from the tubes, and it kind of comes
and goes. He will need some acute physical therapy for a few weeks, and then some
out patient physical therapy. The doctors say that he should make a full recovery by
April! This is the best news we cold have hoped for. Again, thank you all for your
thoughts and prayers. Hopefully we can hear from Danny soon. Thanks all, Dom.
damn - April? that's sick! (pun intended)
so what was the final diagnosis? was it one of those new strains of flu? was it complicated by a preexisting condition? i ask, so that we can all be extra cautious this flu season.
glad to hear he's pulling through, and hopefully sooner than speculated!
(you, get well soon too, Dom!)
