Anyone seen or tried the auto pool cue,,

In the 50's I seen something similar. It was a cue that had a spring loaded tip that acted like the plunger on a pin ball machine. There was a series of notches that you locked it into. Placed the tip against the CB and pulled the trigger.

Also seen a picture of one in a pool instruction book. Don't remember the book.

I don't think it would be legal to use.

That idea has been around for a long time.

Earl aint gonna like this much...

Great I can see it now...one more thing for "The Pearl" to be upset about.

-Players don't break from the center anymore.
-We got phenolic tips and jump sticks
-And now an automatic cue.

This is an idea that I have thought might help the game. Horrible video by the way. A 3 second video that doesn't even show the shot go in? Is there more to the video or is it just my computer?

But really I go to a casino/bowling alley/pool room and it's always an all ages crowd and I see so many kids who make 1 in 20 shots (no exaggeration)

These poor kids can't even make a straight in shot that is right in front of the pocket because they swing so wildly that the squirt and curve and all that makes them miss. I think they would have so much more fun if they had this stick. Eventually they would graduate to a traditional cue but they might fall in love with the game.

Each cue should come with a ghost ball trainer that you can set behind the object ball so they know where to aim.

I've had this fantasy visual in my head for some time now:

A futuristic table that has sensors that show lines to the pockets and red ghost ball lights behind the balls (much like the "spider aiming tool" but without having a contraption on the table) combined with an auto stick for shooting that has an aiming laser and just run an experiment to see how well people can pocket balls that have never played before.

Wow the next thing we will have are special robots to put the balls in for us. No thinking involved. HAHAHAHA

With your reasoning how about a chute with a scope to use for a bowling ball ? The player can load the ball in, elevate, aim and then squeeze a release.

Or how about using a large bore air gun to shoot a golf ball?

There was a post just a few months back about the paint-ball bun that was modified to be an auto-cue. it had 2 settings, break and regular speeds. i can't find the link or the thread now for some reason. it received the same sort of replies though.

You mean like this...

There is no shortage of stupid ideas in this world.

The guy who invented this use to run an advertisement for it in one of the Arizona Pool Rags, have not seen the ad in months, and never saw the auto cue in person?

Now he has got a web-site maybe he will make a $1,000,000.00 off his idea.

Well I'm honestly thinking about getting one for my 4 foot 7 Filipino girlfriend who has never been able to shoot balls in. She gets so excited when she makes a shot. This might be perfect for her.

Would really like to see a better video of one being demod on YouTube or something.
