APA CHEATING ON THE SCORE SHEET- what to do?

Not one damn soul likes my stabbing idea? You know you do. Admit it, my sons, and I'll take care of the rest.

Quit your whining, I put in in my sig yesterday attention whore :D

(Jason, always in favor of stabbing)

Yes, we need to have a link to the recording posted here....crawfish needs lats and longs to prepare for his next mission....

I'm always up for a good ol' shish kabob man! I second that motion...NOW GET TO STICKIN' THE CHEATS! LOL :p

Some people just don't appreciate a good ol' stickin'. Guarantee you they'd think about cheatin' next time. I mean, we wouldn't gouge'em, just a little love slice on the chest. We'd save the full time stabbin' in case they did it again.

If you allow cheating to take place and do nothing about it, you are no better than the cheater.

*TAP TAP TAP*

This is why I'm no longer on Karen's Thursday night APA 8-Ball team... We had a slight disagreement on calling the other team's captain out on cheating... So, I may have over reacted a bit when I did call him out on it :) Karen wasn't too happy about me calling him out either...

si la vie...

'cept APA bans you from the league for physical violence...

Damn league takes all the fun out of it! What good is a pool league if you can't literally beat your opponent?

B

My very first season in the APA ,my captain told me and one of my best friends to lose. We were doing this in order to screw another team out of the playoffs that she didn't get along with.

Needless to say, since that day I have not nor will I ever play for her again.

Well, there are some tradeoffs to a good cuttin'. Be prepared to pay for your actions. There's a few places I can't go.

I got beat by another 5 (4 games) in 6 innings & one of those innings is an out & out saftey. I had to talk to the league operator today & mentioned that I don't get beat like that from 6s or 7s.

Are they looking for teammates? Vegas Here I come!!!

IMO nothing is more lame than cheating in APA to win, because in my opinion there is nothing at all prestigious about the Vegas tournament. Fun, maybe, exciting, yes, but not worth selling out for.

Stab away my friend! Or, give em a nice Columbian Necktie;).

Joe

Yeah, it's all fun and games until somebody gets cut. Those score sheets would be detailed to the max after the word got out. Lying? After the knifing? I don't think so.

By the way, I'm expensive. But, I give all AZ members a 20% coupon on all "non-fatal cuttings." This will run through October.

There is no way in hell I would lose on purpose. I would actually be put off enough to quit the league altogether if I was asked to do that. Till I actually see it firsthand I'll continue along my way.

Ok ok ok

Can we all agree to agree? Cheating is bad! Sandbagging is bad! changing scoresheets is bad! Losing on purpose is bad!! I haven't seen any dissenting opinions. If there are any, that person needs counseling. Enough already!!!
I would like to hear whether or not AZers agree that the APA format cries out to be abused by those who don't like their chances of winning in their league on the square. And AZers opinion of those who constantly call their league director whining that " player A is a 5, but he should be a 6, 'cause he kicked my butt last night. ...and player B on my team is a 5, but he should be a 4 'cause he lost last night...etc. etc. etc.

Official APA motto...

I never met a player that didnt cheat I cant beat.....

The APA is a joke... As my former LO said "everybody calls up complaining about a persons handicap being to low or their players being to high, Nobody ever calls up complaining their players handicap is to low or when their players handicap goes down.

APA rulz state a captain is suppose to play a player at the level they know is the level of their skill. There is not one team in my whole area that doesnt play the "thats what the score sheet says" card. And every team lets the "new player" rating ride as long as it can. Nobody finds a new player and starts them off as a 5 or 6 even if everybody knows the person..

The best move in the APA, wait till the other team throws their new player throw your highest player and have them dump...And make sure hes got his "hustlin" tee shirt on.

If that was OT, The guy should be stabbed j/k for being so stupid as to leave a message... Someone needs to send him a copy of Goodfellas " never talk on the phone"

A few weeks ago I hit the button on my answering machine. It's the captain of the team, we play that night. He says that he has a few players that are close to going up in handicap & he suggests that we get together AFTER the match & ALTER the sheet to help BOTH of our teams. I didn't return his call, but before play began, I asked him how I explain to my players that they are paying $6 to play pool, that they are going to get their asses kicked & I AM GOING TO HELP THE OTHER TEAM DO IT? End of story. NO WAY.Last week our teams meet again. I am a strong 5, even at my advanced age. I got beat by another 5 (4 games) in 6 innings & one of those innings is an out & out saftey. I had to talk to the league operator today & mentioned that I don't get beat like that from 6s or 7s. She grabs the score sheet & tells me that the innings on both sheets match AT SIXTEEN. What's more 2 other scores have been changed. I AM F>>>>>> pissed. Should I call her back & play the recording, from my answering machine?...JER

You bet I would! I despise cheaters.

Could you cut your left hand off and post pictures of your work?

HELLO ALL,

Let me tell you what I think about the APA. It was created with the best intentions for fair play. In a perfect world, it is a great system to enable different skill levels to complete in equally or at least very closely. As with anything, the larger something grows, the more difficult it is to manage.
The APA is probably the most profitable, successful, and popular pool league ever envisioned.

Does it have faults? Of course.

When I started playing in the APA, I was asked to sandbag. I started as a 5 and became a 6 in a week or two. We already had a 7 and a 5, so moving up was not an option because of the handicap limit. I didn't have any interest in starting a new team or even playing with another team. I liked who I played with.

Our league was full of sandbaggers. 7's played as 3's and 4's. It was impossible to compete without sandbagging. The LO did not enforce the rules. Eventually, they were caught and the LO had to ban them for the good of her league.

Did I sandbag? Unfortunately, I did for about a year. I never lost a match in that time, but I ran up a lot of innings trying to keep my handicap down. Eventually, they made me a 7 and I decided to quit.

I started a BCA league and had a great time ever after. No more sandbagging because it just didn't pay. As a player, I love the BCA and the VNEA format (basically the same thing).

Crawfish,

Do you see what you started??? GET MY POINT
Now everybody's answer to a difficult situation is stab, stab away.
I get the point in your opinion, but does a knife really solve the issue?
I know the economy has people trying to make a buck anyway possible, but this might be going a little bit far.

I think what everybody is truly thinking is.......

DO YOU TAKE TRADES ON WORK TO BE COMPLETED???

BTW - 20% off doesn't tell us anything - list a price, and you might get more responses.

Just some helpful hints for a fellow AZB'r, in order to get that start-up business off the ground.

Michael

I truely appreciate your business tips, truely I do. But, this is no startup. My past record speaks for itself. I instigate the fight, and then stab, or slice to "protect myself." Then, I politely leave the "customer" a note as to why the fight started. Quite the business plan, actually. For example, you (or someone you know) needed "work."

The letter might read:

"Dear sir, first off I can't believe you put me in harm's way enough for I was in fear of my life. (Helps in court) Do you realize that I was scared until I had to react (Nice touch). Now, Michael ( someone you should know and respect from now on ) wanted me to actually speak to you. I chose to handle things my way. So, the next fu#4ing time you decide upon crossing the wrong guy, remember there's always someone out there looking out for good. Sincerely, the Fish.

PS. If there's retaliation, I give 15% off for first time customers."

See, quite the gentleman's way to handle your frustration. Not inexpensive, but not over the top, either. As far as pricing, it depends entirely on the situation and you should know I'd never discuss this kind of thing on the internet.

Yes, I take top end cues in trade. And thanks for asking.
