It seems ABZ is just being let go to altogether. I only go on FB to keep up with family, but I guess I need to go there for pool also. Johnnyt

Say it isn't so Johnny, say it isn't so.
What would we do without AZB? I can't live without AZB. It's the only thing I have left.
Oh sure, I can always go to the pool hall, I beg your pardon, sports bar and grill, but the only thing there is One Pocket, booze, and young girls in short shorts and low tops who say, "Tramp, you're the greatest.", or, "Tramp, if you were a hundred years younger I'd take you upstairs and...", shit like that.
If AZB goes away then I quit. If you never see AZB again then you'll never see me again either.

Jerry Forsyth opened a sports bar in Canada?

Jerry Forsyth opened a sports bar in Canada?

My guess is that he is confused by the fact that Jerry seems involved in promoting (along with Jim Wych) the Corner Bank 10 Ball events (at the Corner Bank, a sports bar/pool hall in Canada). Last I heard, he was not an owner of the place - Jim Wych is, however.

The death of AZB has been greatly exaggerated.

again, and again, and again...

If it's being let go, I hope someone gets me the memo soon. Then I can stop spending as much time as I do working on it.

Maybe you can verify this. Az billiards gets over a million visitors a month making it the single most popular website for billiards in the world.

It's a statistic I heard before and I just haven't verified it.

Is the number that high? If so, then there is no way this horse should ever be let go.

What pages do you go to on Facebook to see the news, cues for sale etc.
I've looked around and mostly just see Inside Pool, a magazine that's out of business?...I think.
And some other not very exciting things like this and that guy trying to sell a cue.
No central location for anything.

Well, that's a relief. I thought for awhile I was going to have to suffer my fourth, and probably last heart attack, dealing with one of the girls at my local pool hall, I beg your pardon, sports bar and grill. :)

Seems like a lot of stuff has moved to Facebook. For the most part people use their real names, you can block people you dont like and delete stupid posts by dummies on threads you started. People feel like they have more control.

I hope AZ is around for a long long time. The value forums have over everything else is they are a repository of knowledge and a way to see what was happening at a certain point in history. It would be impossible to replace or replicate the amount of knowledge and experiences that have been captured and saved on this forum. Thousands of man years of pool experience and all you need is the search button.

On facebook the comms are more focused and direct but they are forgotten about almost soon as they happen. People delete a lot of stuff so there is no going back in a year and seeing what happened. I feel like AZ has been in an ebb lately as far as quality of posts. I think it goes in cycles.

can you imagine how much more knowledge could be gleaned if so many threads had escaped deletion/censorship
