Bill Don't Post here NO MORE, and apparently CARE!
What you think of him.
'What you think of him' is not a sentence. There is no verb.
Go to Chicago and teacher the kids at risk. So they don't end up like me retiring at 50.
I can't not believe yoou didn't say that. Loose that altitude about Bill, He's a great man without great intentions and I'm not sure he will maybe build that cue. Or not.
Well said! I agree decidedly.Whoever thinks it isn't a big deal is crazy. It's not like everyone here on azb drew a ticket and hoped their number was picked. As a community, we prob had hundreds and hundreds of hours invested into designing our cues--- some of which were really detailed and professionally rendered. Many of us had to fade our wives/girl friend's BS of why we were in front of the computer instead of at the dinner table (while either feverishly working on last-minute details in our graphics/design app or checking to see if we made a final cut).
Regardless of what anyone says on here, I don't consider this a FREE SHOT---- unless all of you work for free and don't think your time is money. I think if there's any contest where you have to DO SOMETHING to win a cue, it's the SAME as PAYING FOR IT.
I know when I won the Pierce Logo Cue, I had a TON of hours invested in PhotoShop and countless logos submitted. I felt as though I paid for it.
Nice of you guys to just say "Ah screw it -- it was only a broken promise." I'm SHOCKED (stress SHOCKED) the winner hasn't paid Bill a personal visit to offer him a little encouragement. If any of you paid for the cue -- bet you wouldn't--- and that's how I view it. Mhaimi PAID for that cue with his TREMENDOUS wasted time.
What a terrible sour note for BS to end his career on. Seems mind boggling that anyone in their right mind would defend his actions?
I won't watch a Sean Penn movie, and now I will never consider purchasing a Josswest. Just sayin' his legacy is ruined for me.
I'm not going to defend Bill's actions. If you ask me, its kind of a sh!tty thing to do. But...
Let's face it. Starting a thread like this every few months, every month, every week, every day, etc. will have little to no impact on the outcome. He may build the cue. He may not. My money is on 'not'. But don't think for one second these threads will do anyone any good. They'll probably have no impact on Bill and they certainly won't have any impact on his legacy or his body of work.
mhaimi will probably not get his JossWest. :frown: Kicken Chicken will probably never get the closure he seems to needAnd Bill's legacy will likely not be blemished in ANY way. The guy is a legend in the cuemaking industry. Why? because of his ability to design and to bring those designs to life. Not because he was such an honorable guy.
Hell, if I recall correctly, Bill's original Design Your Dream thread was born out of another thread in which Bill flexed his rather large ego, saying that cuemakers do points because they're afraid to try new things, etc., etc.. So at the end of the day, a handful of you will remember Bill as a dick. And Bill likely won't give a damn. Neither will the collectors who set the value for Bill's cues. And his legacy will be based on THAT. Not a contest that never resulted in a cue and left a few guys pissed. So really, these threads serve no purpose except to make a few people look like infants who can't get over their disappointment in a contest they never won in the first place.

Actually as a collector of fine custom cues it has affected me and my opinon so it may not make make a large difference in his customer base but anyone I come in contact with that asks I will just say a man' word is his bond even moreso in buisness
