This one is being played at my house on Saturday (the 2nd). Eight of the best players this side of Western Ave. in Torrance, North of Sepulveda and South of Rosecrans. :D
The good news is that it will be streamed live at poolroom.com/azpoolfest. Practice starts at 2 PM and the tourney kicks off at 4.

As Joe Rogan once said, "Pool is a beautiful game played by ugly people." Well here we come, like it or not. Please keep young children away from the video screen. They may never pick up a stick again after seeing this mockery of the game. :poke:
 
I'm one of the players. I hope you have a fast internet connection Jay, so that you catch the full glory of my break. lol. First time I've been streamed and second time I've played on a Diamond. The excuses are starting already. I'm even shocked by that.
It's gonna be fun!!!

Jay, you previously posted some pictures of your beautiful home room-with this event-you might want to put some painter's tarps down to protect that carpet in case the boys get rowdy..

This should be good. What's the game? Banks?

I wish it was Banks. Nope, it's 9-Ball.

Let's see, there's funkydrummer, abe4pool, poolhustler, aunty dan, dogs playing pool, cuaba and me so far. A couple of others whose name I forget. Oh wait, 8balleinstein will be there too. And poolroom may play.
 
Funkydrummer yes, but my AZ is atthecat. Man, I wish I could change it!!! I think there was just a thread about that.

Jay, your geographical area is pretty small. I think next year you should expand it to at least the 15 freeway. (Upland)

Wait a minute Atthecat is in Calabasas, completely out of the area. I'll check the stream out. Have a good time.

this is a cool idea Jay! I never thought of streaming from home. I have a nice 9' GC4 wedged up good, and I know I can get some strong players to come up here to try and get my $$$.

Truth is I'm working on getting a heated 10' 3 cushion table here to go along with my GC.....:thumbup: that would be a great all around...3 cushion....one pocket.....10ball....and banks!

Really cool news Jay! Thanks for hosting this one. This is gonna be fun! Looking forward to
seeing everyone again, as well as the new attendees. :D

Speak for yourself. I'm an "A" player - as in Almost a "C+" player.

I better go incognito for this one. I'll be the one in the Groucho glasses, rubber nose and all.
 
Will there be a chat room available? Also I would like to bet all my remaining v-cash on Tate. I'm going to pass on the one pocket at Hard Times and stay home to watch this. Sounds like you guy will have a good time. (actually I have to stay home anyway, my wife has been out of town for a month and is returning home soon. So I have to get the house back in order.) I will tune in. Have fun boys and say Hi to Brad (Cuaba) for me.

According to Tim, there will be a chat feature available. I just hope you aren't talking to yourself Frank :wink:. By the way, you're welcome to come if you want to. I live near LAX.
 
The results are in! Brad Simpson (Cuaba) won the whole thing beating 8BallEinstein in the finals. In case you didn't know, Brad is the author of The Blue Book of Pool Cues. I had no idea he played so well. Another undercover player. Just goes to show you that most people who are involved in the sport have a background as players.

We all had a great time, devouring pizza, sharking each other, telling tall tales and just plain goofing off. I look forward to the next AZ Poolfest in Socal. A great bunch of guys, with new ones joining us each time. I recommend you do something like this in your area.
