Balabushka

I dont think its a scam

It was offered before but the minimum selling price was not reached.
He tried to sell it twice and now its on ebay again but with a low start bid.

Its a very beautiful cue by the way.

The other bushka on the bay

It was located in Boyington Beach Fl.. I rember woundering if it was Scotts.

I asked the guy if i could look at the cue, he said he would meet me at the POLICE STATION. I guess we should threaten all potential buyers with going to jail for.... WHAT? Complete A-HOLE. By the way i live about 2 minutes from this idiot. Good luck with the sale is all i can say, there is no way I would want to deal with this guy.

i dont think he ment harm. just protecting himself. would you go into a meeting with a stranger with $20K in your pocket. dont think so. he doesnt know you from adam. wasnt a threat. if you have nothing to hide meet him at the police station. if youre REALLY interested that is and are a SERIOUS buyer.

Have to agree with this. It's a reasonable precaution when selling something as expensive as a 'Bushka to a random stranger.

ZERO history?
Scammer.

The Guy with the curly gray hair was the one at V.F. showing it all over the place .He even sat with it out in the hotel lobby on display.
Ask him for a current photo of him with the cue & a current newspaper if you think it is a scam.

looks legit to me, i remember this cue from a while back and i think it checked out to be good. the cue in the pics look like a Bushka to me the LOA is on the right paper that Pete uses for all his LOA's. What is in the pics is the real deal, now what would be delivered could be something else, if I was buying it I would go see it first. My $$$ is that its all legit.

I am surprized you are not biding on it, it would go very well with your other Bushka's. In fact I think you have another one with a similar Butt, that was posted here on AZ.

Have a nice day!!

Yup, I agree. The guy tried to sell it on eBay, I think twice, both times with a reserve price which wasn't met. He and I eMailed some, I think he was looking for something in the area of 22.5K (in the second auction, I think he was hoping for 40K the first time). Nice Spain blank.

Maybe he wasn't threatening, but rather suggesting an environment where 2 strangers could meet with something valuable in safety for both.

My thoughts too

Put yourself in his shoes, WHERE WOULD YOU SUGGEST? Your house?

I think it is a tough deal both ways.

I have told this story before but I think it is a good one, and old people like me get the right to tell stories over (I'm 44).

I was at Ray Martin's house and we started talking bout cues and he has a balabuska that he sold, I think the buyer came from Asia. The guy flew in with $25K CASH, they met at the airport, and made the deal and the guy flew back with the cue and Ray, got his money.

How many of us can do that?!?!?! You have to admit the pool world is a strange one!

LOL,

Ken

To add to what you've said the guy has "0" feedback on ebay! I'd never buy a high end item from a seller with "0" feedback. It's just too risky.

a no reserve auction.........nice pictures and add layout..........with minimal listing fees this seems like the cheapest and best advertising you can get. if it don't go to his number he can pull the auction.........with 0 feedback, he hasn't done nor probably wants to do allot of business on ebay so it's a win win for him......

For a high end cue like this one, I'm flying in and picking it up personally. NO problem meeting him at the station to look at the cue. With 20K in my pocket, I would make him meet ME at the police station!

I'm not sure about going to a police station, I think Starbucks would be a bit nicer.

I'm not interested in this cue, I have a couple nice Bushkas. I closed my main biz down this past week and am working on a new gig, until it starts paying off i'm not gonna buy anything unless I can steal it, and that isnt gonna happen here with this cue. I have a few big watches in the pipe line i'm gonna grab, I keep my $$ spread out and I'm holding about the right amount of $$ in cues-unless something good comes up.

I asked to see the cue & asked if there was a buy it now price. He then THREATENED ME WITH GOING TO JAIL. F- HIM

This is an elderly Gentleman with an extremely valuable cue. He needs to reap the benefits of being the lucky one who bought the cue way back when. I feel sorry for Him having so much trouble selling what is surely a right priced desirable cue.
