I have seen it. Not a big budget film but will entertain the hard core pool junkie.

Basically a story of a couple of hustlers that hustle their way to Johnston City for a big score.

Andam and Baltimore Bullet

Does anybody know the real Baltimore Bullet? I think richiebalto might. Andam played a gentleman they used to call Baltimore Bullet in Falls Church, VA years ago at a pool hall called Sharks.

I cannot recall the exact bet, let's just say it was substantial. They played in one of those tight Diamond tables with Andam giving Baltimore Bullet the seven, razce to 10, I think.

Andam dominated the match and won the race easily.

Richiebalto might be able to recall the name of this older gentleman who was really well know and feared in Baltimore years ago.

wish I had a head of hair like Coburn did...started going bald when I was 30 :frown:

I like when the blonde was bouncing up and down in the shower, trying to see what was happening outside in the room.

I've played a guy named Buddy Dennis who they called the "Baltimore Bullet", but that was in Columbia, SC.

I own it and have watched a few times.....No doubt in the top 20 of pool movies:wink:.

just wondering. Is there 20 pool movies?

I own The Hustler, COM, 9 Ball (completely sucked imo) and Shooting Gallery. Seen the one Whoopie Goldberg was in.

Yes it was Buddy Dennis, Tom VANover played better then Buddy! Andam is the best money player ever in this world or any other, believe me i know, i seen it with my own eyes and pay it with my own pocket!

I have seen it. Interesting to pool players. Not particularly well written or well acted.

Thanks, Richie. I couldn't remember Buddy's name because it's been a long while. Andam OWNED him when they matched up. Oh, Andam gave him the 7, by the way.

Yes, I saw it and remember it. Many of the members of the relatively new PPPA tour appeared in the movie. Pretty ordinary movie.

It's my favorite "just for fun" pool movie.

Nice picture. Allen Hopkins was about 26 in that picture and was the reigning PPPA World 14.1 Champion. Irving Crane, aged about 65 at the time, was still capable of a 200 ball run. Jimmy Mataya looks amazing in this picture.

Ah those were the days.

Yep

I have seen it a few times. The problem is, it was never made on DVD for the states. It was only released with an overseas "region". So if you don't have a way around the region problem you are stuck buying the VHS version. It is an older and low budget movie. However, if you love pool, its not a bad way to spend 2 hrs. I seem to remember our very own Jimmy Reid saying that the scene where the cops bust up the tournament was based on what really happened at that event. Also the movie has some pretty good quotes "remember kid, I taught you everything you know. I didn't teach you everything I know."
