You can't pardon them if they never go to jail, and if they really screw up, give em a Medal of Freedom.

I was joking because he just pardoned Scooter Libby, the guy who lied and snitched on Valerie Plame. Of course Rove did first but they set Libby up to take the fall. The Bush machine at work!

That's fine, but just for the record I have never posted here that I worship Bush. It gets old when people bash Bush continuously. Gotta admit it was hard catching old Bill in a lie though. That "It depends on what the meaning of is is. That was classic. Yeah he was a lot smoother. Here's a list of some of good ol smarmy Bill's pardons:

Carlos A. Vignali had his sentence for cocaine trafficking commuted, after serving 6 of 15 years in federal prison.

Almon Glenn Braswell was pardoned of his mail fraud and perjury convictions, even while a federal investigation was underway regarding additional money laundering and tax evasion charges. Braswell and Carlos Vignali each paid approximately $200,000 to Hillary Clinton's brother, Hugh Rodham, to represent their respective cases for clemency. Hugh Rodham returned the payments after they were disclosed to the public. Braswell would later invoke the Fifth Amendment at a Senate Committee hearing in 2001, when questioned about allegations of his having systematically defrauded senior citizens of millions of dollars.

Marc Rich, a fugitive, was pardoned of tax evasion, after clemency pleas from Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak, among many other international luminaries. He was required to pay a $100 million dollar fine and waive any use of the pardon as a defense against any future civil charges that were filed against him in the same case. Critics complained that Denise Rich, his former wife, had made substantial donations to the Clinton library and to Mrs. Clinton's senate campaign. Emails uncovered during the course of the investigation revealed that her final donation was provided a year before Scooter Libby requested that she approach Clinton for a pardon. According to Paul Volcker's independent investigation of Iraqi Oil-for-Food kickback schemes, Marc Rich was a middleman for several suspect Iraqi oil deals involving over 4 million barrels of oil.

Susan McDougal, who had already completed her sentence, was pardoned for her role in the Whitewater scandal; McDougal had served 18 months on contempt charges for refusing to testify about Clinton's role.

Dan Rostenkowski, a former Democratic Congressman convicted in the Congressional Post Office Scandal. Rostenkowski had served his entire sentence.

Melvin J. Reynolds, a Democratic Congressman from Illinois, who was convicted of bank fraud, 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice, and solicitation of child pornography had his sentence commuted on the bank fraud charged and was allowed to serve the final months under the auspices of a half way house. He had served his entire sentence on child sex abuse charges before the commutation of the later convictions.

Roger Clinton, the president's half-brother, on drug charges after having served the entire sentence more than a decade before. Roger Clinton would be charged with drunk driving and disorderly conduct in an unrelated incident within a year of the pardon. He was also briefly alleged to have been utilized in lobbying for the Braswell pardon, among others. However, no wrongdoing was uncovered.

Shawn come on. She's already said she ran a pool tournament. And from her posts any one with some intelligence can deduce she has some experience in the pool community other than "lapdog". You dont need to bring it down to that level After all we dont know your credentials. You don't know mine. Although I did run 8 and out a couple of times. LOL! But we are trying to come to some consensus here.
I mean I really admire and respect what Grady has done as well as JAM. I just dont agree with how they are handling it.

Although he took it perhaps a bit to far, he has a point. From what I read, JAM is frequently biting and/or alarmist with her comments. She does not discuss the topic at hand and remain calm...she vehemently declares the "truth" that can be seen from behind her American flag-clad podium. Additionally, in this thread alone, there have been multiple times where she's said, "I can't tell you what I think of you because it'd be breaking the forum rules if I did"...i.e. insulting someone without saying the words. This isn't an insult to JAM, just a view from the cheap seats.

I too have seen what many Europeans think of the average American. It isn't pretty.

You know what, I am SICK AND TIRED of all of you people that think the moon belongs where it is. The moon is like a parasite to earth. What we need to do is nuke that mother f'er to bits. If you don't agree with me, don't start *****ing at me when the moon just happens to FALL and land on the earth, killing billions.

I think I should start a thread about blowing up the moon here in the main forum. The way things are going with the main forum recently, that thread should turn into a discussion about pool after a few pages.

I agree cue. Maybe we should send punter and John Barton up to the moon and they can start a new colony and see who creates the best society. Grady could arbitrate.

Sometimes the moon actually looks like a cueball, IMO

I remember Dr Cue's Protege saying that everytime he plays the moon on to Jupiter with one telescope tip of draw and enough english to break up a cluster of supernovas he always seems to get the unluckiest bad roll in the universe, with the moon usually scratching in the side black hole:)

You want to compare the IPT tour to one 14.1 "world" invitational tournament?

WPA-sanctioned, indeed, with the caveat that those in control invited who they desired, with a special emphasis on the New York State region.

The IPT was not WPA-sanctioned, and for good reason.

Hopefully, with some Americans on the board of the WPA today, like Fran Crimi and this Smith guy, some equity can be established, to include the United States in their portfolio of events. The WPA did a good job of promoting pool in Europe, but didn't do squat for the U.S. that I could see.

If you are, once again, attempting to flame me, you'll have to do a lot better than this kind of monkey chatter.

JAM

I simply highlighted your hypocrisy, you slate the WPA World 14.1 Championships which:
1) handed out the vast majority of it's invitations to national governing bodies and invited the players basked on their ranking/achievements
2) Invited the top 16 finishers from previous years event
3) Had numerous qualifiers to give people like Grady, our very own SJM a chance to qualify

But you applauded the IPT who invited 150 players based on nothing and then lambast invitationals! But of course you will never see the hypocrisy in this!

If you look closely probably half the field was made up of Americans, but of course now you complain there was too many "Yankees" lol

What was the "good reason" the IPT didn't use the WPA again, it wasn't worth paying 5% to ensure everyone got paid? As I've informed you countless times in the past, the WPA has done NOTHING for European pool, that's not it's role (see previous diagram for 15th time!). The EPBF is responsible for the success or failure of European pool, just like the BCA is for AMERICA ;)

I wise friend once said something about bigots and racists, they hate other countries, they hate other people, they hate other towns, and if you really pin them down they probably hate people in the nicer street down the road! These people just hate anything different to themselves.

You also need to brush up in your pool history, just like most your views it's not based on fact or reason!

Last time I checked, this is a pool forum. If a few kindred souls follow their dreams to become all that they can be, so what if their priorities are different than the seed-gatherers? Does it give the nits who can't play a lick the right to bash them at every opportunity on this pool forum?

Yes, playing professional pool is expensive, and most cannot make ends meet, but that doesn't give the seed-gatherers the right to call them "fools." They continue on their mission in life, which is to be the best that they can be. This is something that should be admired, not ridiculed, again, especially on a pool forum.

Another absolute peach, coming from one of the worst internet trolls I've seen who has insulted many players (not to mention much needed promoters)on here including myself. IMO you need to practice what you preach, if you have a strong belief at least try applying it consistently. ;)

It is no secret that there is no love lost between you and me on this forum. I have tried very hard to steer clear of the continuum of insults you have directed towards me in the past several months. I have accepted the fact that you and I will never see eye to eye. It might be time for you to do the same.

You label me as "one of the worst internet trolls." For one thing, I am no troll. It is pretty obvious who I am. I don't hide my identity behind a forum name. So maybe your definition of a "troll" and mine differ.

You have also stated that I have insulted many players and promoters, including yourself. I think my track record on this forum would prove quite the opposite.

In fact, I have been a strong supporter of many pool promoters as well as pool players. Let it be known that MANY pool promoters have requested that I post updates and trip reports, to include pictures, at events that I have attended. I enjoy doing it, and so I always try to give as much as I can to disseminate what pool news I am able to when I am on the road. Pool promoters like me. I am AzBilliards' "JAM," and they know I will always support their endeavors in any way I can. Though I have been invited to write for various pool media in the past and even today, I have declined for personal reasons.

As far as pool players go, if you're talking about yourself, I agree that I have not posted anything positive about you as a pool player. However, I can probably do a search on this forum and come up with hundreds of positive posts I have made about hundreds of pool players from around the world. I am currently involved in two projects pertaining to pool players, one of which is receiving international recognition. You see, I promote pool, and I stand up for pool players, no matter what nationality they are. So I disagree with your opinion on this front vehemently.

As far as the IPT goes, one quick review of this forum will reveal that there are a variety of opinions about the tour's origins. I won't rehash them here in this thread. IMHO, there is no way to compare the IPT tour to a one-time 14.1 "world" invitational tournament.

Now, if you want to continually dog me on this forum every time you disagree with my opinion, I will continue to reply in kind, always following the forum rules.

You may enjoy doing everything you can to rip me apart at every opportunity you can on this forum, calling me a troll, stating I demean pool players and pool promoters, but you are now speaking untruths. In legal terms, you're a liar.

Again, I have tried to not engage in further negativity with you. I suggest that you do the same.

JAM

Punter, I tried to stay out of this, since I sell books and shirts to the red and blue both, but I just cant help myself, the blue side reminds me so much of my ex-wife that I have to insert this one last thing:
Question: How can you tell a left-winger from a right-winger? When confronted with incontrovertible evidence of one side or the other, the right-winger will say " I'll get back to you on that." The left-winger will say, "Whatever!"

Let's all just get along and kill everybody else.

Freddy this "whatever" thing you got from your wife. Is she related in anyway to mine? They seem to sing the same tune. "Get back to me" on that one will you?LOL!

Finally, a voice of reason.
