Best Breaker in the Game!!

Larry Price (RIP) had a great break. However, Wade Crane had the best I've ever seen. Larry Nevel, too.

Corey

Corey Deuel is the best.
They outlawed his break.
This was a grave injustice to Corey.

SVB can be considered when they take his break advantage away.

In my opinion they need to outlaw Shane's break, just like they did to Corey.
Maybe only three balls can go above center maximum.
And no breaking from the center, to be fair to Corey.

After all Pool has to be fair to all the other players.
ABP, OOPs I mean Charlie, you need to outlaw Shane's break so the rest of the ABP players have a chance to make money.

No one should be allowed to have a advantage because he has a good break, huh Corey.

The game should be about Position Play and Ball Running.

SVB= Best 10 ball breaker
*Corey= Best 9 ball breaker
*(master of the rack) (not to mention the most talented player on the planet, just does not have the fire anymore. I think the Seminole sponsorship he got hurt his game, he got very lazy for years. Now that it's gone, he wants to play but it looks like the drive is no longer there. Playing on talent alone)

Svb has a great 10 ball break .
But Hillybill hit them hard real hard and makes 3 to 5 balls at a time..

Theres a fellow from the philly area that goes by the name of sam (about 30-40 big white guy) he came in my pool room a couple of years ago, he broke the balls so hard that the cue ball would get yellow spots on it from the 1ball, he says he broke qballs before and 1 balls from his break (i never seen it) but Sam _____ did play jam up pool, could not get him a game here in baltimore, except with Slivka, but i quickly declined that idea!

Richie,

Any chance it was Sammy K from Sayre, PA. Big, big white guy with a pig tail on the top of his head? Owned a room in Binghamton, NY for a while. Used to see him aroung during the 80's and 90's. Been missing from the pool world for a while. Perhaps someone who knows him can jump in. HUGE BREAK!!!!

Lyn

Earl Strickland had 1 of the best 9 ball breaks of all time bar none!

Had to....ta run the eleven against Mannino 4-96 @ CJ's. But David Howard and Medina and Rempe also are/were very close to SVB. They didn't have the same equipment, but the results are there.

Bingo thats him, he showed up in baltimore 2years ago Sam and i played few hours of 1pocket, so we got to talking and we went a few places, i could not get Sam no action at all, everywhere we went nobody would play him, it was like someone was knocking our action before we would walk through the doors, Sayre ,pa off of route 220 i think, on the pa and newyork line, that was the first i ever seen SAM or heard of him, but no doubt others had heard of him. I just remember Sam telling a story about how he got beat up really bad either in johnston city or Chicago, he said they allmost killed him, left him in hospital for quite sometime, i think Sam told me his wife was a school teacher, he had me talk to his wife and assure her that he would be alrite running around in baltimore with me hustling pool, she didnt want him doing this anymore, thats is probably why Sam does not come around anymore, he did tell me his wife didnt want him going away no more for weeks at a time, she was a good women, So iam thinking SAM stop the pool life, good for him!

I am not a fan of the softer cut break..

Based on what happened at the us open this year.... Shane by far, in terms of consistency+ power+ accuracy.

I was at the US Open in October and Shane's break was better than anyone there. He just put hand cuffs on Dennis Orcollo in the final with his break and his run out ability. Shane is the best player i've seen and I love to watch him play. His pause on the last stroke before he hits the cue ball is deadly. He follows through so perfectly it's just amazing to me that he can be that accurate!

Don't leave Larry Nevel out of this thread. He has one of the most powerful strokes in the game and his break is awesome!

James

Shane Van Boening without a doubt for both 9-ball and 10-ball. There are other players who break harder, but his cue ball control in both games and pocketing of the wing ball in 9-ball is second to none. If you watch some of his 2012 U.S. open 9-ball matches, you'll see the greatest 9-ball break ever in every match he plays! The wing ball literally flies in the pocket every time he breaks. None of the other players in the tournament could duplicate that.

I want to know by public opinion, who is the best breaker in the game?
This question can only be based on two essential variables; Power and Cue ball control.

3 years ago I talked to Danny Basavich about his break, why he does not hit em like he used to when he was a young gun!!

He told me that it took too much out of him to crush the balls when breaking , remember in a large tournament format you are doing this a bunch and trust me he hit em real good!
Heads would spin from the sound!!!!
He then showed me his current techniques for breaking and making balls with control!

evgeny stalev
