I heard Cole Dixon was a force to be reckoned with when he was in his twenties and early thirties. One thing for sure, he didn't have to ask for spots and handicaps like today's young guns do. He stepped up to the plate and showed no fear, no matter who was his opponent.

I heard his break was powerful. The more shots one has in their arsenal, to include break shots, the better they are to meet all situations on a table. What makes Cole special is his ability to adapt to different playing conditions quickly, whether it was a GC, a Diamond, a Connelly, or a warped bar table. In order to succeed, you had to be able to adapt quickly. This holds true today, even in tournaments.

I met Cole a few years in Vegas. I did not know him when he was hitting 'em in his prime. I have been told that he was quite the ladies' man with long blond hair, looking much like the California Surfer. I guess living in California, that was a good thing! :smile:

and yes i busted him.

the young guns will spot sometimes and the old school guys will take one.
like i have said before you know nothing about pool.

Wow! That's something to brag about, defeating a man who's in his fifties.

Can't wait to see what they write about you when you get that age; that is, if anybody even remembers who you are at that time. :)

I saw Bartram in the 2009 US Open and he wasn't bad - plus I respect and like his ability to gamble. He ain't no superman at pool.

But trust me when I say that Bartram could not hold a freaking candle to Cole Dickson in his prime, and Cole would have given Bartram plenty of weight and cleaned his clock. Jeeze.

Yeah, that is what most people I know think of Chris Bartram. To be fair, he isn't exactly a household name, but people in the know regard him highly. I think he called it right about his legacy.
