Best Chalk??? I wanna change.

I personally use triangle chalk and have had really good luck with it. I can't see spending 3.50 for a cube of chalk although I have tried it and it don't help you pocked balls any better and see no real advantage.

Recently bought some Magic Chalk from Russia. Other than the words, Magic Chalk, the rest is in Rusky. Gonna give it a wack as soon as I'm done with the BD.

That's interesting. I've never heard of anyone bashing Master Chalk? I have no possible idea why they would. Maybe I'm old school, but Master Chalk hasn't ever done me wrong.

Grrrrrr.....I think people are just trying to cash in on new equipment. Especially these new age tips and shafts. Nothing wrong with a triangle tip and good ol' master chalk. I've tried the new age layered tips and did nothing but miscue with them. Oh, and these "no-deflection" predator ob-1, ob-46...whuteva shafts. Don't believe the hype.

Wrong!!! Nothing wrong with Masters, but the Blue Diamond IS better, not just hype.

Have you even tried it???

I like the Masters but I don't love it. It's doesn't stick to the tip as much as I remember. Just wanted to try something new and the reviews on BD were stellar.

Yes, It is better than Masters. It is the only chalk I will use now..

No I haven't, but I've never miscued because of master chalk so I figure, don't fix what's not broken.

You say there's nothing wrong with masters, but blue diamond is better. If there's nothing wrong with master chalk, what makes the other kind better?

I don't think I'm being stubborn by not trying this new chalk. I've just never had any complaints with master chalk. If I start miscueing, then I may change my views.

What I meant by "there's nothing wrong with Masters" is that there is nothing wrong with Masters.

If it works for you, great. But to tell other people not to try something else is just stupid.

The BD chalk lasts longer, is cleaner (doesn't get all over your hands and the table), it goes on smoother and thinner.

I personally misuce LESS with the BD and can put more spin on the CB with it.

Hope this answers your question.

I was trying to tell him how master chalk would never let him down. Master chalk is the bee's knees.

A Triangle tip is fine, but mushrooms more quickly than say a Sniper or Moori or Kamui, etc. Also, a low deflection ( not " no deflection") shaft is a huge difference in play. I tried shooting with my frined's Pechauer with a standard shaft on it tonight, and I couldn't make a ball if I tried to use a lot of spin. The low deflection shafts have changed the game for the better and I am sure a lot of pros use them now because of that and would not go back to standard again. They really do make a huge difference.

Have you tried on eof these "hype" shafts yourself? If not, give one a week of play then try the old one. I am sure you will feel the difference.

That's funny, my triangle never mushrooms. I'm too tired to read your whole post donkey puncher. I'm on east coast time. I've tried it all. I like my 12 yr old schon w/ original shaft and my triangle tip.

Dark Blue masters for me. That light green stuff is poop! No luck with the colors; they don't seem to cover as well.

What is the difference to between the different the different blue diamond chalks. They list 3 different types.

I just gotta say, I think you are being a bit harsh just because someone
chooes not to jump on every bandwaqgon that comes along.

But mostly - if you are getting chalk on your hands and worse, the table,
you desperately need to learn how to chalk a tip.

My semi-educated guess is you are a chalk grinder - this may also
explain why you are less happy with Master.

It goes on fine if you do it right.

BTW - the most important thing about chalk is keeping it DRY,
which can be a promlem in high humidity.

Blue Diamond Chalk is the best chalk. At 3.50 a cube it's not cheap but worth it.

I have the same opinion. I never thought I'd switch from Masters but the BD is better. I believe it spreads better on my hard tip.

Hi Dale,

I apologize for being harsh!! It was late and I was exhausted. I should have just logged off and gone to bed!

I am not a chalk grinder!! I just find the Masters a little softer which leads to more chalk on my hands and table. It goes on thicker which may or may not be the cause of more miscues. Who knows, maybe its just my lousy stroke!!

Also, the Masters seems to be a little more inconsistent than the BD. Some cubes are soft and some are a little harder. I have gone through about 10 BD cubes so far and it has all been consistent.

I understand it is pricey, but a few bucks here and there isn't going to kill me. I have even given out about 10 cubes for free, for people to try and most have agreed that they like it better.

Best,

Russ.....

I've tried 4 different chalks, blue masters was better than the rest.

The main thing is preventing miscues (which chalk has a real impact on... it's not just technique and correctly hitting the ball). I miscue less with blue masters. It's the right stickiness and density.

Forget any claims about a chalk improving your performance by i.e. allowing you to spin or draw better.

Just try others. If you can somehow try other brands without buying a full box of 'em, do it and let us know the results. I never tried BD so maybe it really is better.
