Does anyone have an opinion of these DVD's? A teammate of mine from pool league lent them to me....I think there's about 9 DVD's.

I watched the first one today....touched on the basics....but Timothy White's teaching method seemed pretty clear.....he seems to be a pretty good player as well as a teacher. He had some pretty good points on practicing vs playing.

Anyone else watch, or own these?

He's not too popular on here, but from the brief clips I've seen he does teach the SPF (set pause finish) method for your stroke

I own the whole set and can't even stand to watch them. I think 8 of 10 are still sealed in their original plastic. The guy talks so slow the only way I can get through it is to put my DVD player on 1.5x speed.

I have seen them all. There is a lot of good stuff, but he is not the most dynamic speaker. In the last video you get to seem him running naked on the beach. In that video he does a very interesting trick shot. A lady is lying naked face down on the pool table. The object ball is sitting on her butt. He shoots the cue ball into the object ball and pockets it.

Can someone pass the popcorn...this is going to be fun to watch!

Steve
I'll make a call to "Frankie and Louie" and see if the frogs can bring the Bud........weis.........er to compliment your popcorn. You really need to be totally wasted to put up with more of this Oyster crapola. IMO his web site needs to be classified as porn. I would NEVER let any child alone with this lunatic after what I saw on these forums regarding "His Nakedness" yesterday.:(

I developed a dislike for him because of his posts in the following thread. It appears that he went back and edited his posts to remove some of his comments. You can still see some of them where people quoted him.

He might be a decent teacher but he needs to keep his billiards instruction and his gay porn separate.

I met him at a tournament, he had a bunch of his stuff piled on a table trying to sell it. In person he looks like a bum, how old are those pictures he shows on his site? No one seemed to have the least interest in buying anything from him. A real goof in person.

What's he doing running around half nude when he is in business. What sane business person does this sort of thing?

Also, if you put them in a microwave for a minute or so, they make a heck of a fireworks show.

**Note: try doing this in someone elses microwave. It's a very smelly fireworks show. :o

Sounds like this guy isn't real popular here.

Regardless, is there much to be learned from the dvd's??? Or.....should I not bother watching anymore of them (I think I spent a total of 30 minutes watching the 1st one).

He is obviously not popular here at all due to many non-dvd related issues.

However, I personally believe his dvd material is good. He goes into a lot of in-depth discussion on the basics. I watched I believe the first 4 or so of his dvd's. The information he had on stance alignment, set pause freeze, and eye patters really helped me change my game around. I hadn't seen such detailed information on the other dvd's I have (not saying its not out there). But that explains why he needed 10 dvd's to make the whole series.

Anyway, you already have the dvd's, so the only thing you will waste by watching them is some time, if it turns out you hate them.

The first two DVD's are the best I have seen for stroke fundamentals. They go into extreme detail of what you *should* be doing.

There is NOTHING on his DVDs that does not exist on others so, strike one.

The guy is a TOTAL SCUMBAG as any review of the threads here will demonstrate conclusively....Strikes 2 and 3...and 4-20.

Best instructional videos on the market

The billiard sanctuary videos are perhaps the best instructional videos on the market. Tim White provides a very structured, well organized and easy to follow program that is guaranteed to improve your fundamentals. I could not recommend these more highly. Additionally, if you have any questions about the material, Tim will respond.

i bought the whole set a couple of years ago. i've seen all the dvds but some are a little hard to watch because they are boring, however, the teaching of the basics, IMO, is excellent and very detailed. when i received the dvds, half of then would not load on my dvd player. i sent an email to Tim about the proble, a couple of days later, vis ups, i received a new dvd player......it seems he had made the other dvds using a different, newer format that would not play on older dvd players. so he sent me a new one free of charge! can't beat that for  nothing about the history of him on this forum, i can only say that some of the dvds helped me and his service was 1st class. also wish i could have a naked girl on my pool table!
