Bobby Chamberlain (wrldpro) 113 Ball Run

Thanks for getting these from Bobby, Steve.

I watched a bit of this one on the way home from work, today. Bobby sure can shoot good with that claw bridge of his.

Lot of tough layouts with balls that needed to be gone into again and again, but he did it.

On one of the breakshots, I thought he was going to take the two rail balls and end up with a side pocket break but he left the one down by the bottom pocket and used the side pocket break ball as a key ball. He then made the one in the bottom and off the rail and did a bit of damage to the bottom of the rack and almost got hidden under the rack. Well executed, but the side pocket break looked like it was easy to get on and would yield more.

Nice run. I don't think I've seen anybody else make their closed bridge the way he does.

Thanks for posting the video.

Now that Bobby has a camera set up, I'm sure it is just a matter of time before we get to see a really big run.

Way to go Bobby!

noticed his bridge at the 14.1 Challenge at Super Billiards Expo this year. back in the 60's before i stopped playing for 40 years, somebody was using that bridge, but i don't remember who it was, or whether they were a local or road player. this was in the Golden Cue in Kingston, NY, and Buster Ferraro who ran the place brought in a lot of great players, including Cisero Murphy and Luther Lassiter. wish i could relive that with what i know now, i had no idea of the riches being laid out before me...

Wow that was pretty interesting. Definitely some tough layouts. Running over 100 with the way the balls were laying in those racks is a strong strong performance. Particularly in rack 2 or 3 when there was an absolute mess on the bottom rail late in the rack and he still got out. Also his style at the table is interesting with that unusual bridge and the way he cocks his head over the cue.

I cant even make a bridge like he does, i would like to know the story why Bobby plays the way he does(stance and bridge, head) iam thinking thats how he learned to play at an young age.

Thanks for the questions.

Ok since you asked I will answer.
The bridge is basically from younger years as I fought alot without any gloves on and my index fingers are severly bent and crooked on both hands.
The stance and head position didnt happen till after 2004.I had a heart attack and 2 heart surgerys late October and early november of 2004 and I lost about 90% of my vision in my right eye and had to tilt my head to a very dominent left eye and teach myself how to play pool basically all over again.

You are fortunate to be able to still play at a high level following that. There is a guy locally who owns a pool hall who lost most of his vision in his right eye when a cyst burst and he tilts his head similar to you, but he never has regained his speed.

Thanks for the answer Bobby, that is truely amazing, Bobby i know you know Tom Vanover have you two ever matched up before (he is in his 70s now, iam not trying to make a game, Tom is finish anyway with pool) i cant imaging you two never played before living so close to each other!

too easy

A ton of guys can run 100 including Bobby ,especially after that many days of playing.
I am surprised 113 was the highest he ran.
Come on Bobby run over 100 everyday at least once and maybe a high of 150 plus.
I have seen John schmidt play on a diamond and he will run 100 plus 2-4 times an afternoon and run 150 -200 everyday.Ive seen it.
Your teasing us Bobby with these daily high runs of only 70 or so,are you playing left handed lol.
Show us some 150 plus runs to shut up the critics champ.
Better yet post that 311 if you have it on film,I will watch that for sure .

I can't get over how good he plays with that bridge. To show you how my luck rolls, I'd prob see Bobby play in a random room - not know it's him and wanna play b/c of the bridge and then the next thing I'd know, it'd be 185 to -2 and I'd be wondering WTF just happened.

More runs to come maybe.....

Just to let you know there are many, many more runs and Steve Kurtz will be posting them soon as long as there are no negative posts and there is no reasons to quite any critics nor do we care anyways as we just enjoy the game.We do not have my 311 on video as we have only tried to record my practice every so often as I certainly dont need to have any videos of high runs to sell books, dvds or keep any sponsorship or a large ego.
There are a few high runs we have held back for our purpose to distribute how we want to do so and when we feel such negativity, comparisons of players and critics as you call them keep their comments to themselves.
This is one reason we decided to just post up a few runs to see if people respect pool playing under tough conditions surrounding the table or are just more concerned with how high the runs are and comparing them with other players.

Good post

I agree with you.
My thing is though I can watch 60-90 ball runs all day on youtube by shortstops.
It's not everyday I can see 200 plus runs on film so I hope you post them right away as they would be great to watch .
It's funny someone said to me the other day that you have worldpro on your license plate, your avatar with a pile of cash ,that you have worldpro311 on your facebook and that you put on your fb profile professional poolplayer.
They said you are the biggest egomaniac pool has ever seen yet you play well under pro speed, and they would play you for huge money.
I say these huge runs should shut them up and from what I can tell you are a nice guy and anyone who plays the way you do should have a huge ego.
Rock on worldpro ,your allright in my book.

Joe Balsis had an interesting closed bridge also during that era. He seemed to loop his index finger alone high on his bridge hand. But the remainder of his palm seemed to rest on the table.

Good shooting Bobby

Watched the run, if you can get the camera to view to look down on the table more than that would be cool also. I like the above table view better as I can se the table better, anyhue great run. not all talk for sure and I would add that your a true fighter Bobby and it shows in your game.

113 ball run

It's great you got some runs on film to post up Bobby, they're good to watch for beginning straight pool players like me and I for one really appreciate being able to see them. Looked like you had a mess in lots of those racks and you had to shoot straight as heck to get out of em man. Way to go. Do you find yourself getting into trouble that way on bigger runs or were the runs in the videos just a couple of those times the balls refuse to cooperate?
This definitely makes me want to see your big runs. Post em up and thanks again Bobby.

its not that bad, spidey.

last time i [played him, it was about 85-6 when I realized i didn't like it.

and that table he plays on is tougher than the OEM Diamonds too.

and who was azbfan? banned now? thinly veiled jabs...

Danny I really only have 1 place to set a camera at and its a very small wooden bar ledge that is attached to the wall and if the camera is bumped at all it will surely fall to the tile floor. The only other place to set the camera at might not be so bad except its also another bar ledge with more traffic walking around and when im shooting or breaking from the left side of the rack I would be blocking the cameras view.
Its honestly a hassle to have a camera anytime there at all however there are plenty more videos to post with higher runs and difficult layouts that Steve Kurtz has and should be posting soon. There are a few real nice numbers that I have kept and will decide when to post them.`
