Bonus Ball

So many what if's!

If a team cannot compete that scheduled weekend, they will have to reschedule before or after the period in question. All teams must play x number of games.

Due to my Christmas duties, after this post my friends, you have to send your questions to info@playbonusball.com You may also go to www.wpbl.tv to learn more.

Merry Christmas!

IF you want BB to make it you should never speak another word about it. you do much more damage then good.

I call bull shit on you.

The 10 foot event was expanded to 32 players. This was a disruptive move by DCC since many of "your" players were on the fence as to whether or not to attend DCC. When this event was expanded many more BB players wish now to attend the DCC. So now you've delayed BB out to a point where you are disrupting the BCA.

Great collaborative effort by all.

Well, Justin, however you take offense to a simple statement, it simply was me wondering how many pool players would actually be making the trip to the Derby now that all of the Bonus Ball players are free to go! I sincerely hope that many do go because it was I who pushed the start date up and past the Derby. No offense should be taken.

We have stated many times that we want to try and co-exsist with the rest of the billiard world and i personally assurred you that TAR is welcome to our players, as long as it does not interfere with our show. We will continue to try our best but obviously, it is not going to be easy to avoid some conflict. I also voted to take the BCA weekend off but was out voted. I am a BCA player as well.

Who do you blame if not Larry?

The buck stops with him does it not.

Don't throw the contractor under the bus.

Larry keeps changing his mind and changing thew plans.

Larry is odiously not a good planner, engineer, designer or project manager.

He's a visionary. His head is in the clouds. He's out there dreaming up games and ideas and stuff.

At some point the rubber hits the road and shite needs to get done.

Justin, I speak to many of the players daily and none of them echo your thoughts on the delay. Disappointed, maybe, because they are anxious to play.

It's out of Larry's control and everyone must realise that if the contractor can't get his project finished as promised, the schedule has to be delayed. Blaming Larry for having to reschedule is hardly fair. I actually would like to thank him for agreeing to schedule past the Derby.

I thought it was my idea!:embarrassed2::D;). Damn dope!. Hahaha...

Get those players with whom you have agreements to earn their $$ and add value to Bonus Ball. Those players should be going to- screw going to, they should be directed to- go to pool rooms, tourneys, rec centers...out there introducing the game to people and expanding the market for the product. Hell, how many would love to be assigned to go to their hometowns and promote their employer's product?

It might have been you. You and Watchez look a lot alike and I don't remember so good sometimes.

Thats a hell of an idea you have there as well. Never even occurred to me. They payed the players for two weeks to basically do nothing. While an honorable thing to soften the blow of the delay it makes sense to tell them "All we ask is you go to your local room and play Bonus Ball for free with anyone who asks for four hours twice a week." Thats one days work for damn good money and an investment in the company.

On a positive note some of the payers have been doing a good job on Facebook. It seems there is a bonus for whichever team gets the most facebook likes on their page and I think that was a smart idea to motivate the players to do it. It's kind of sad that is required but I understand it.

Some of the players are getting out and making an effort and thats a good thing.

I just read through this and as I suspected I didn't see and answer my question "What if 2 players from the same team want to play in the 10 ball in vegas?" VP has been hiding behind that "Any Player can take off and use their alternate" line and now a real scenario has been put forth its time to go.

I keep wondering why there is so much negativity towards Bonus Ball? In life when I am negative about something it's because the negative will affect me directly.

Jester will it affect you directly if all three players on a team cannot play in a major event?

Will it affect the negative posters if the players do not get payed for this delay?

I also feel that VP is in a no win situation. If no one from BB post then it will be said they don't care what people think. And if he does reply then it is said he does not reply how they think he should.

We complain that Billiards cannot get noticed in the general public eye's....but if someone is trying to do something different and taking all the risk doing it, I say "good on them for trying".

Meanwhile I will Wish them well and hope for the best!

Go MINNESOTA OUTLAWS!

This affects me directly as I like to watch 9 ball and 10 ball and one pocket. If the turnouts become low in the the major events, It will become less valuable to me.
Jcin has stated that bonus balls rescheduling has affected a TAR match already. As a pool spectating consumer, this affects my enjoyment.

I just had something pop in my head.

There are obviously construction issues. I havent seen any kind of marketing that matches up with the prize fund you are paying. Why don't you guys just push it till April or May? Then you have time to work out all the bugs in the new place (shit always goes wrong). You have time to promote through any number of avenues and you can show potential sponsors around your new completed facility with time to get them on board for the launch?

I completely understand if you don't want to answer or dont know. Its just something that popped in my head.

Its Clark County busting balls, they are brutal. I told Larry he was in for a battle, As bad as Clark County needs business they step on EVERYTHING new thats coming in. Which is why I left Vegas, I still have business there ALL in the City, not County like BB.

Atlanta would have been the best city for BB IMO.

I wish them the best, Brutal to have spent this much $$ and still getting harassed by the County,

I can't help but agree somewhat with the 'gang who couldn't shoot straight' analogy.

Cory was in LA playing BB at House of Billiards last week I heard on the rail,

Fatboy, they are no longer saying its has anything to do with the county permits its the contractors being behind on their work. They seem to be laying it ALL on the contractors. They are not saying the contractors are behind due to the permits.

Two weeks ago we had corey, jj, sylver and justin hall in houston at bogies billiards for a kim white event.

I was joking with them to all go back to the hotel and change into their uniforms..

I keep wondering why there is so much negativity towards Bonus Ball?

As Dorabelle has accurately noted, bonus ball has affected other promoters such as Mark Griffin and JCIN, not only by their delays but by their lack of promptness in announcing their delays. The result, in some cases, has been diminished opportunity to produce events.

The greater answer, however, lies in how business works in general. A company develops a new product, goes to great lengths to tell you how good their product is and how its launch will revolutionize the business sector in which they operate. This company announces its launch date, cancels it, announces another launch date, and cancels it, and so on and so on. This is frustrating for the business proprietors, but is similarly frustrating for the would-be buyers of the product.

In this case, Bonus Ball is the product, and the pool fan, amply represented here on the AZB forum is the would-buyer. Why wouldn't the would-be consumer be aggravated?

Still, this would-be consumer will try to stay patient and has every intention to purchase the bonus ball product once it is launched.
