Bonus Ball

For those of us that have had 0% interest in bonus ball at any time during the life of said bonus ball, could someone please provide cliff notes on what has been and is going on with this whole thing?

Haha. I made the mistake of taking a nap on a couch one night. Damn biker girls and their cosmetics.

I looked real pretty. I had no idea until I got up to use the bath room. Then I saw myself in the mirror as I walked past.

Tell ya what, I guess that certain people involved feel that they are finally getting the built up pressure off their chests and clearing the air.

At a time when BB was being touted as the savior of pool in its present state of affairs and all it did was create the biggest train wreck
of all time.

If and when BB gets going, does anyone involved believe that any of us that are witness to this are going to purchase a subscription to BB
when it may be here one day and gone the next.

Going to take a serious amount of PR and a new mission statement to convince people other wise. By the time this gets rolling, most of the players are going to be long gone down the road. What is it going to take to get them back on track.

But, I wish Nathan and Lenny the best of luck and hope that someone can salvage something out of the damage that has been created with this thread.

they are legit, i used to go eat with Dana White years ago before it blew up to a 2 billion $ biz. Now they need drama to sell more PPV, make it interesting etc. So some fights (not the majority) just he main event can be predicted. as the old saying goes "Bet the biz, dont bet the sport".

Also remember UFC 20 or there a bouts there was no story lines or grudes, Chuck was kicking everyones ass, it worked but until Dana (who is a genius) started making the fighters stars they didnt pull huge numbers, when he started to with back stories and grudge matches it blew up. And that's cool. thats what I saw, Joe Rogan posts here and if i'm wrong, i'll roll with what he says as he works for them. I like Joe lots and respect him

K-1 in Japan is not selling the back story and drama they way American media does(or to the extent UFC does), same for the Olympics I watched it all here in Germany last summer and I just saw the sport. then I'd log on to a american website and se headlines like " Darling of the Olympics takes gold" Her family is proud and her grand dad stayed alive from cancer just to watch her win, and passé in his sleep just after the awards ceremony. in Europe you saw the athletes names and how they performed, there was ZERO back story on any of them.


I havent seen K-1 play up their athletes like this before, I remember when George St Perrier (I think it was him) his sister was missing in Brazil, at the show that night they told his life story, her life story and made a plea to anyone with information to find her. All this before the fight, Was UFC 46,47,48 isn.

American media is all about the drama and back story, which invloves the audience and sells more views cause people want to see the story play out-thats a very American way of presenting sport.

Since when does a private argument need to be aired in public, and since when does a private argument require an official spokesperson? :eek:

Not everything has to be "official" or about Bonus Ball. We're real people, who before all this, we're also forum members. We posted like normal people prior, and will continue to post like normal people both during and after.

Dana White of the UFC says dumb shit all the time. He's a real guy, makes mistakes, and speaks his mind. There's nothing official about him. Not every company needs to be run by people in suits pretending that they're perfect.
 
Think I have to side with va on this one. There are a handful of users here that I would love to tell to go &%^% themselves.

If Larry could have gotten Barry banned from here months ago, they wouldn't be in as bad a PR position today.

Oh, it would still be bad, after all the construction snafu's. But the groundwork was already laid by Barry with his off-the-rails posting style here. With that history, the bad publicity from the delays was magnified. It was "more" bad news, not the first bad impression the project was giving.

Hopefully they can turn it around. Not interested in watching, but hoping any pool related endeavor is successful....
