Brazilian Rosewood dowels and squares

Just for clarification here, you're saying that I have to drive half way across the country to purchase some of this? Not very cost effective, IMO.

As far as pricing, let me see if this helps you.

I'm looking for Br. Rswd.
What have you got & what's the price?

The responses to this question will give you an idea of what the market is.

Why not sell it before the show and you'll have less to carry or better yet send all of us some free samples, I have lots of money now but in March I might not. :)

Sometimes I think wood is not the only thing we cut(our own necks) :)

Mason, I only saw lumber available one time at Mitch's (THW of LA). I bought one board and shared it almost 4 years ago. I have one square left. It is a wonderful tonewood, IMO. I have a feeling Brazil has severely restricted it's exportation. I haven't been able to locate it. I'd imagine plenty of it has been sold as Brazilian Rosewood since it looks the same.

Here is a primer on identifying the two:

Hi Pav. I'll be at VF & will look you up. I won't be interested in buying a bunch, unless it's cheap. But i'll pay premium for premium pieces. I might be a minority but Braz rose doesn't do it for me unless it's rediculously figured & beautiful. Hope this helps.

Yes. Dalbergia Spruceana. Don't confuse it with the crap the guy on Ebay is selling as Amazon RW!

Is that the same guy selling "Brazilian Rosewood" but doesn't know if it's dalbergia nigra and has tons of it and suckers the unknowing into paying absorbent amounts of $ for it and won't take refunds?

last year

i bought 3, 29 inch brazilian rosewood butts that were at least 80 years old, my cost $125.00 each.
