Sorry but i believe that it was to do with name calling and vague threats in the post, ill bet $20 on it. :D

I couldn't cipher any threats out of the ya-ya and, as far as I know, calling someone a schmele (sp?) is a term of endearment in yiddesh...

Enlightenment would be appreciated.:)

Well, we certainly won't get a chance to learn from it now. I've been trying to figure out when things get censored - apparently thievery and scamming are absolutely fine (unless you can show a court order handed down by a judge), but name-calling and threats seems to be a grey area, as I think it should be; otherwise, the forum would have lost it's cue-builder poster child long ago.

Still, keep your $20 - too random to bet on.

manwon i applaud your efforts to bring these shady business practices to light. not too long ago i had my only little problem where yourself and many others came to my defense about a deal that went out of control with a well known seller here on az. ironically he is a fixture in this mess as well lol. coincidence? i think not. there are a bunch of great guys here on az but then again there are some to avoid. i dont expect people to roll the dice in order to decide who they deal with but i would suggest a little research if your not sure. i just had a situation in which i pm'ed a seller with in 2 minutes of posting a cue for sale. i offered him full price for the cue and he responded saying that he is waiting to hear from another az'er before he sells the cue??????????? i really just dont get it with certain peoples logic. anyway a big shout out to all the good guys here on az. you know who you are and keep up the good work.

thanks
ron

They pulled Dean's wolf wolf post too....just after I had made a nice reply too...oh well

Just got a email from Mr. Wilson regarding the thread where 1pRoscoe posted email replies from an ebayer that he sent false information to:

"The whole thread was bad, so the whole thread is gone.

Thanks,
Dave"

I wonder if these posts have any legal issue so they are pulled.

Duc.

The whole thread wasn't bad - I thought the part where I posted was good :)

Thanks for posting the reasoning.

Can someone give the rest of us the upshot on this subject? Who are the players in this.I ( like others) would like to protect myself from the bad apples.

The thread in question was titled 2 South West cues for sale!! The member who started the thread was KEEP IT REAL, AND another individual involved was QUALITY CUES.

Now, I am certain that a number of the posters who responded to this thread know what occurred, because they were also involved in the other thread that is in question. There was no cursing, and I really do not understand why the thread was pulled unless it was to protect the individuals who were involved in the under handed dealings, which I hope is not the reason.

Here is the gist of what happened, 2 South West cues were offered for sale. A member of the forum offered to buy the cues, days went by and he made numerous attempts to contact the seller who never replied to him. However, the seller did continue to post that he received offers and was considering them. The member in question (Smokey) offered the full asking price for these cues. More time go's by and the seller announces that the cue's are sold to Quality Cues. This was days after Smokey offered to pay the full asking price with no answer!!!! The seller claims to have contacted Smokey which he never did. Then low and behold MR. Gartland (Quality Cues), comes along through private PM and offers Smokey the cues at an increased price.

Now the thread has been pulled, so my word is my word and this is what happened. I would never do business with these individuals, and I hope all buyers are aware of this under handed dealing.

Your correct about this but there was bickering and some back and forth,Smokey calling someone a little smuck, saying he knows what they look like and he will see them, very vague and repetitive,he was going on and on and on.I thought some of it funny but most of it distasteful on all ends.I think that Smokey should have said his piece once and walked on head held up high and never dealt with these guys again if he was that POd,i would have been too and also when the person who bought the cues offered to resell them in that very thread, ridiculous!

I agree - if a seller behaves poorly, do you really want a cue bad enough to keep dealing with them? There are plenty of sellers here who behave poorly, but they are easy to spot and to avoid.

Some of these guys seem fine to me and I have been ready to buy from them, but then I ask someone I respect about them, and they say to stay away, so I do. I read somewhere that it it takes 7-8 times more effort to replace a customer than to keep one. The numbers are even worse when it comes to replacing a customer who left pissed off. So in the end, even though these cue sellers may be happy with their $$$, they aren't as happy as they could be if they were honest.

i see it happen all the time. a cue gets sold at blow out price. then the next month the buyer lists it much higher.

i hear bad things about mike from QC. he took a huge dump on one of my FS threads and i pm's him about it. he edited ane appologized. i was fine with that.

i still dont understand why it was pulled. if you keep hearing the same crap about the same ppl it should be documented. pulling it is like sweeping it under the carpet curse words or not.

this is the internet. im sure we can find worse things then curse words and bad names

Yeah some people who sell a product and are in business dont get it,a dollar today is a dollar today to them, you have to think long term.In the entertainment/club business its like that,i have worked the door at some nice places. The fast ones that wont last long work it like this,10pm cover is $5 for ladies and $10 for guys then in an hour when it fills alittle they double it sometimes triple it if people really want in.People complain but they will still pay it because they are there, but will they come back?,half of them wont.A good owner will set his door charge and the customers wont feel like they are being jerked, imagine bumping into your buddy and you say it cost $30 to get in!,he replies i came in an hour ago and it was $10,that means you lose people that way,bad business.

Our current recession must have adversly impacted the legal profession in view of what is taking place not only when trading cues in but also in everyday buying and selling tactics. It never ceases to amaze what some will stoop to in order to squeeze out a dolla....

Although unrealistic it would be lovely if the cohooters were stuck with their wares for a lengty time frame.
