California Young Gun Tony "T-Rex" Chohan's Challenge Match!

Interesting that he's chosen to match up with an ahead game as opposed to a race. I'd think the race would be to his advantage, but maybe I'm wrong. At any rate, he's looking for some takers! I'll be following this challenge match and looking forward to reading all about it! :p

Probably a smart move on his part, I was thinking sort of the opposite from your post above.

I'm good for probably 7-9 INTENSE games of one pocket, then my game really starts to go downhill as I get impatient/frustrated, etc.

Tony probably knows that he is a very strong endurance player and is using this to his advantage.

Just my .02

The "under 50" clause could be renamed the "Parica clause". Also, he might want to stipulate "West of Oklahoma, but still in the continental U.S." since Alex is living in Hawaii now -- and that IS West of Oklahoma! ;)

The first time I ever met Tony was at the U.S. Open. Everything he wore -- shoes, hat, pants, shirt, socks -- matched perfectly, like he just stepped out of a Nike commercial. :p

Over at Q-Masters, between the U.S. Open matches that year, Tony was on the front line looking for a challenge match. At every Derby City Classic, he's ready, willing, and able. This is a bold challenge, and hopefully, the Tony will get a game. I'm anxious to see who's going to step up to the plate! ;)

It also does not state "playing even". I am sure the standard match up garbage will be a requirement.

If he puts out a challenge like this, I'd think it would be a "given" that it's going to be for even. I mean, it would seem kind of ridiculous to issue a challenge like this and then ask for weight after you see who responds! :p

Where is Brian Jones when you need him!?! Is Chohan better at 1hole?

Brian Jones ain't got a prayer to beat Tony. Brian is a GREAT one-hole player, but I like Tony's game better. I think that kid from Texas, Silver, is a better one-pocket player than Brian Jones (IMO).

Maybe there is ONE

There are a few players in California that would (if they could come up with the $$) take this offer...

The 'Freezer' would be on the list of 'usual suspects'

Oh- well, what do I know?! Jones looked pretty sporty to me @Carolinas open while TRex did not.Now Sylver- I did watch him play some old guy in NC, they both looked pretty advanced to me!

Sylver's game has improved beyond belief... would be a tough gamble. Possibly the slightest weight from Tony needed, maybe one ball?

Age limit?

I challenged him at the Pechauer tournament Saturday but he said I was too old. Dang!

Sylver showed me a little more speed than did Brian Jones of Oklahoma at the Carolinas Open, Black-Balled. Not saying Brian cannot play. He's definitely got game!

You're right about Scott Frost. I can't see Tony defeating The Freezer in one-pocket, especially in an ahead set, but 9-ball may be whole different animal between these two, which is why he issued the multi-faceted challenge: 9-ball or one-pocket! :p

It will be interesting to see who steps up to the plate. Too bad he said WEST. If he'd ever like to travel out to the East Coast, I might be able to accommodate his challenge match. It won't be easy, but it will definitely be an entertaining set. ;)

JAM [Are you reading this, Tony? Back atcha!] :D

I explained to Tony when he approached me about this that I wanted to be able to cover the whole thing on the site. So if anyone steps up, we should be able to know about it before hand, report on the outcome and hopefully even lay some vBookie odds on the match.

Hes Got Bar Table Action

If He Would Like To Come To Indianapolis There Is A Guy There That Hasn~t Played In 2 Years Will Play Him On The Bar Box For Whatever

"any player under the age of 50 who lives west of Oklahoma"....does this mean the player cannot LIVE IN Oklahoma?? That would count out all the Tulsa boys....
