HELLO ALL.after going through this i.p.t dillemma for some time now,I am going to speak my mind as a overseas i.p.t member.
1 year ago from today I was one of the selected members and life was very good, now 1 year on I am 1 sick pool player,I have no will to play ,no confidence in thei.p.t,moral is at its lowest and my direction in life now is total confusion to where I am heading,I quit english pool for this and was very high in the rankings when I did so,english and american equipment are very different so I had to make a decision on which to give 100 percent to,am sure everyone would have done the same,as myself.
now there is not much chance of getting paid anything for all my efforts, suits, break que, playing que, balls cloth, practice time, flights ,hotels, books ,d.v.d.s,coaches,have all come to a few quid in my confidence in this organisation.
all I would like now is to be told the truth,no more lies,I had very high hopes of this dream in the begginning but now as I put all the pieces toghether all I smell is badness.
pop the champagne was a phrase used recently, followed up by the cancellation of the 2006 season, cmon i.p.t heirachy tell the truth I have a family and money is running out and I need the money you owe me,I showed faith in you and now you must repay me with the same efforts that I put into you.
I am also pretty sure that my current situation is similiar to the rest of the i.p.t members.
thankyou brian saleh, sick as a parrot pool player.

Why do you think most of the players have been so quiet this long?

I must give you credit for finally coming forth and stating what we've all been saying for several weeks now. I know several IPT players and I'm sure that while each players' circumstance is different, a lot of what you said applies to foreign and American players. I wish nothing but the best to each of you, but sadly I feel that the final outcome will be one that doesn't include any more payments. Its just a goddamn shame that people like KT are continually allowed to scam and prey on people in this manner.

to be truthfull with you, they probably all feel like myself, but just dont want to rock the boat,as I say this whole i.p.t thing has probably cost me 25,000 english pounds in lost sponsors ,personal outlay, and guaranteed prize money,I write this so that the people in charge ,if they see it may finally realize how much damage they have actually done.

Brian,

It make me feel bad to read about your story, and I guess there is a lot of people who are in the same position as you. Especially many from the UK, where English pool is more common than American pool, and many players have did the same as you and chosen only to make a go for one of the games.

It does not look any good about the IPT-situation, and I honestly think that the most of players and fans just want the truth now. Just tell us if this is it, and that you can't pay the players. Then we can stop this endless debates which won't lead to anything, and we can all look forward.

Hope that it will work out for you guys, and I honestly hope that you will continue play!

Roy

Thanks for having the courage to publicly speak your mind, it is certainly respected.

You guys all have the support of many, many people involved in the sport, as well as all the fans. We all hope that you get paid and wish you the best.

Brian,
First of all, thank you. Thanks to you and your fellow competitors for being such great sportsman and exhibiting such great sportsnamship.

As for myself, I can only say, that I am ashamed that my fellow American has chosen to treat you and all IPT Members in this fashion. Honesty is and should be a Universal Language. All IPT Members should have been treated fairly and with respect, no matter which ground they came from.
I am especialy saddened for those who traveled from all over the world, to the United States at their own expense, and treated so disrespectfuly. We know you made much sacrafice and endured much expense.
Pressure is being applied to the IPT to rectify this situation. There are many who care. Hopefully, the situation can be resolved.
Good luck to all of you and again, my sincere apologies as it is an embarassment.

Hi Brian,

Many, many of us feel the same way as you. I can barely stand to watch my husband, in a fair state of depression. He feels rudderless right now and I am almost ready to give him some 'stupid' money as I call it, just to get him out of the house so he can blow it at a casino or at the track.

This whole thing has been one roller coaster ride with the highest highs and the lowest lows. Just know that there are some of us working together to get to the bottom of this! ;)

Ugh.

I hope you have been in good contact with some of the players over here and I hope you have received proper legal advice. Technically, anything is still possible. It is embarrasing as a fan and as an american to see this kind of crap going on.

Buzzer,

I hope you keep on playing the American game whatever happens on the IPT.

I think people will have learned that pool players can come together worldwide and some future world pool tour with decent money might come up. In the mean time there is the European Tour and the new American 8-ball tourneys in the UK seem to be improving.

Stick with it if you can and I know you must have had a terrible time with all this going on in the IPT. I really think the American game might take off in the UK and let's face it, you gave the UK game every chance to pick up, but it seems to get more and more messed up all the time and who can blame any of you, Daz, Mick Hill and so on for trying to make a good living changing over to American pool.

A lot of us over here were proud of how well all the UK players did on the IPT and it'd be great to follow all of your progress in the future regardless of the IPT.

All the best,
Mal

Hey Brian,
I feel your pain mate.

Yes, we've been misled. Promises made underdelivered. It's a damn shame as most of us have put our careers and reputation on the line for this chance to compete on a tour which was filled with "guarantees".

Colin

We all want the truth, but we never seem to get it from the IPT. If anything, Eydie has told us more truth about the IPT in the last week or two than the IPT has in it's entire existence.

Well said Mal,
One thing that is positive in my mind about the IPT is that we got to see some otherwise unknown talent come into the game from the English 8-ball game. It's especially pleasing to me, having specialized in that same game.

The conversion isn't as easy as results might suggest. English 8-ballers have typically not relied on big breaks and the change from a small 1 15/16" CB to a 2 1/4" CB requires a lot of re-programming.

I talked to a few players, including Darren Appleton about this. He sais it wasn't too much of a problem, but gaining relative proficiency is a different thing that developing an instinct for the CB, which is what happens after years of playing with the same equipment.

All the english style players had in their favor was some pattern knowledge and some accurate potting skills. God knows what they could achieve if they focused entirely on the US style games for an extended period.

Colin

Buzzer...<<I write this so that the people in charge ,if they see it may finally realize how much damage they have actually done.>>

Oh, they know perfectly well. I feel your pain. But professional pool tournaments have been conducted in this country for a LOT of DECADES prior to the IPT's arrival on the scene and that will be true for a lot of decades after the IPT fades from the scene.

I am not encouraging you to devote your life to U.S. professional pool tournaments because there are so few players actually making a living from it...but just because the IPT has...so far...been a huge disappointment to you shouldn't change your dedication to U.S. pro pool.

Regards,
Jim

Brian hang in there, I know this is blow to you and many others. Allot of times from the worst comes the dawn of something new and better. Its no much different than committing on a shot knowing well that you could miss and lose, but you'll learn from it. I am know way condoning the IPT's actions. I have seen situations here in the states in pool and business treat those in the same manner. If I could say anything good it would be, I haven't seen the white towel yet and I have to wonder why. Why is it that the ship is not sunken yet? One would think Deno would of surfaced by now if it was 100% a no go. Why is nothing being said other than something will be said? What are they holding on too?? Somethings gonna give, but what/when? We've been beating this to death on this board now since Danny Harriman announced no check (2 months now).

Brian ...

I am sorry for the situation you have been put in, and I, too, am embarrassed by the lack of honesty and fullfillment by the IPt.

Most Pool players only lose 'opportunities' to make other money, as there are no guarantees in life unless they have appearance fees coming or scheduled instruction that they are doing.

I personally think that KT is scrambling because he does not have money to sustain the tour on his own, without endangering his way or perceived way of life. He is sustaining the minimal expenses needed to keep the shop open, but not much beyond that. He is trying to find a 'buyer' that will sustain the tour for at least another year, giving him more time, to establish the foundation he so eloquently advocated was going to be in place. Of course, this is just speculation on my part, but I would be willing to bet it is not far from the truth.

I just wanted to express that posting this on here was I needed to be heard,I have met some great people on this i.p.t rollcoaster, and it was a really good experience, there were lots of good moments that will stay with me for life,am staying positive and will continue to play and practice,I must now also just let nature take its course,as I have no power in the outcome.
I feel better just to have been able to get a lot of my feelings in the open.
thankyou az billiards.
