Just wondering what everyone uses...Or doesn't use?

I actually witnessed a player putting Master Chalk all over his hand once. His hand was all blue, very funny...A Smurf Hand!! LOL

Chalk cones should be outlawed.

I keep my shafts and hands clean.

I use to wear a glove a lot but stopped.

I just keep my hands clean with regular handwashing during the tournament. During REALLY humid conditions I will use an alcohol wipe on my hands to help heep them dry.

baby powder ONLY if I have to. I try to keep everything clean so I don't have to use it. Never on my own table.

Cant stand when people use hand chalk.....makes a mess.

and i dont know how anyone can shoot with a glove on there hand.....it takes alot the feel of the cue away...

i never have a problem with the cue feeling sticky as long as my hands are clean....i always wonder what people are doing wrong with talc or a glove that they cant shoot without it....clean your cue and hands....youll never need either one.

we used to have hand chalk in the bar i shoot at.....but they havent replaced it because i spoke up....i love it when people ask for powder and nobody has any....all it takes is a few people using hand chalk and your table looks like crap for weeks even after cleaning.

i have had problems once or twice with a bar cue feeling sticky...but all i had to do is wipe the cue with a wet napkin and dry with a towel....then wash and dry my hands....after that even bar cues feel smooth

i use nothing ... less it is a really humid day then i will put a little powder on my hands and rub em good before wiping off on a towel before i even touch my cue ...

I never used anything until recently. I wouldn't let powder touch my cue. I was discussing this with Ernie G. not too long ago and he told me that the lanolin in baby powder is good for the shaft so I'm not as opposed to it as I used to be.

So though I usually don't use anything, once in a great while I'll use the tiniest bit of baby powder, put the smallest amount on the table by my chair and just touch the tip of my finger to it and rub it down the shaft. No excess at all so no mess on the cloth. I guess what I'm saying is on the rare occasions when I use powder I don't use it on my hands, just a tiny bit rubbed into the shaft.

I keep a small bottle of Purell in my case. This is what I use to quickly clean my hands during a match so I don't have to run to the bathroom and delay the proceedings. I keep a small towel with me to wipe them dry. The stuff works great and the cue slides like butter after cleaning my hands with the hand sanitizer.

I hate the glove. It used to be I couldn't even stand to see other people use it. But then I realized some people have a real problem with sweating from the hands and that's got to be a royal PITA for playing pool, so I suppose the glove is a valuable tool for those with sweaty hands.

PS: I take very good care of my shafts, keep them clean and burnished.

I keep my hands clean whenever I can. One tournament, though, I couldn't go three games without my shaft gumming up because of the humidity. Problem was that I didn't have any hand wipes and I could only call for a 5 minute break once per match. Then I got a quick thought. I asked the tournament director if I could make equipment changes between games. I switched over to a spare shaft until it gummed up, called for a break, and cleaned my hands and both shafts.

I use a glove, and have been for a few yrs. I usta use Easy Slide ( bowling stuff) which is basically like baby powder, but having to Re-apply the stuff every match or two sucked... And yes sometimes it does get all over, and you look like a bad coke-addict

when i started playing the nerves made me sweat so I used powder. After the number of complaints about the chalk on the table I bought a glove. I shot with it for a while but once I got used to playing under pressure I stopped using the glove. Now I have no issues and don't need either. Though I remember the glove did make the cue slide nicely.

Smooth Stroke

I wouldn't be caught "DEAD" wearing a glove to shoot pool!

although I do on occasion use Johnson-n-Johnson Baby Powder!, if I have sweaty hands or palms.

(Just don't use the vaseline intenseive care powder, it will WAX the balls if you use it enough)
