If I may elaborate - This is just a 9 minute teaser. It's Angel's baby. She lit up in Vegas when showing it to some of us. "Wait, wait, watch what's next!"
It's to be a 90 minute movie she's going to present at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival in Utah. If it is received well, it's my understanding she'll have far more doors open by which to reach more viewers. As has been posted elsewhere, it's been years of a labor of love. During which @ 30 of the people in it have passed.
I'd never met her before. It was impossible not to notice her in the stands at The Cup. She usually sat over Melanie's right shoulder. This beautiful brunette was just beaming and rooting all Cup long. Watch a youtube Cup vid - look in the stands near Johnny's wife, then you'll guess who Angel is.

I saw her in the Mosconi Cup audience many times. She shines like a bright diamond. Very pretty lady.
I have known about her project for sometime, but to see it finally come to fruition is very exciting. I wish her all the very best. :clapping::clapping::clapping:

She is still working on completing the final project. It was submitted recently to Sundance Festival, but there were 120,000 entries and only 160 are chosen. She is juggling several pool-related projects, the other one being, "Raising the Hustler."
I can't wait to see the finished products of both of these. Exciting!

Thanks JAM I really enjoyed that! I met Angel Levine and enjoyed the many conversations at Derby and tournaments over the years. I look forward to supporting her project with a DVD purchase one of these days!

Me and Frost were watching it and he said he enjoyed it. Hope it makes a buzz outside of the pool world. :smile:
I have not met Angel yet, but I feel like I know her by her writings and work. She is, without a doubt, a pool fan to the enth degree. I think she's very cool! :yes:
What separates her work from others is that hers truly is reality. There's no acting involved or staging. It's the real deal. Any pool aficionado can see that there was no rehearsal or direction given beforehand. That is what I like about her work the most.
Timing is everything. Sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time and meet the right entity to get your work noticed. Like pool, a little luck involved may be the ingredient to launch Angel's production. I believe, if given the chance, this will be a huge hit.
Needless to say, this will be great for pool.
while I loved this teaser, what I saw doesn't look like it would translate very well to the non-pool-involved general population.
it may be very possible, however, that the rest of what will be included will fill it in nicely. I think the potential is certainly there.
JAM, or anyone else who may know, it was said that this film will be at Sundance which I know is a big deal. Is it that the film was just submitted to Sundance or was it reviewed and accepted to play there?
How does all of that work and how far along in the process is this film?

It was submitted to Sundance along with 12,000 other entries. Sundance only accepts 180, and unfortunately, this one did not make it. However, she has other avenues she is intending to explore.
