Chris Bartrum

I wonder what Busty thinks when he's about to play a match like this? My guess is that he's not under any serious pressure at all.
Just think about it. If he wins, great. If he loses, well...the spot might have been a little bit too much...will adjust next time...
I think to earn the respect of Bustamante himself, you'd have to beat him even...if you ask for a spot you're immediatelly saying "I'm not as good as you, but I still want to win some money"...
 
Anybody who gets in the box and puts that kind of green on the line deserves props win or lose. Anyone laughing should get in the box with Chris and give him the 7.

I'm not sure why anyone would post anything negative about Chris. I've seen Chris gamble on a few occasions and he always was respectful win or lose whether giving or getting weight. Is he the best player in the world? No, but he may have the most heart. How many people do you see matching up with Busty, spot or no spot? Plus, Chris will play on the stream, not worrying about trying to sneak around. Look at how many people were watching at 4 in the morning! I'm a Bartram fan!
 
Know him or not, win or lose, playing well or a little off, if you're human it's damn near impossible not too root for Chris.

not a player? do you mean is he a champion.. well your right he is not a champion yet.....i didnt realize that all the champions of today started out playing even with the champions of the past...
he doesnt have heart? well i tell you what then about 99 percent of pool players wouldnt have the heart to play chris even...if this were true he wouldnt have to play busta with a spot...if everyone just jumped up there and played chris even he wouldnt have to try to MATCH up with such champions...because he would have more action than he could handle...

beggers get by? come on when is the last time you saw anyone of champion caliber play each other even? thats right they dont play each other. i bet chris has been in more action giving weight then getting weight..
so does that make all he plays giving weight HEARTLESS?

do you start out by being the best? do you think buddy hall or busta played even all there life? i doubt it......do you think that buddy hall would play dennis orcula even? sorry for spelling.. i think not.. i could go on for ever about even play.....it doesnt happen now and didnt happen back then....ask around...

I didn't even realize having to win 8 games to 10 games against Buste was chicken shit until you told me. Maybe he should only get 2 games from Orcullo.

What's funny is 3 games to 11 is probably about right for what SVB needs from Buste. SVB is gonna jump up there and fire off and god forbid he loses. He will have HEART though. Every pro player there is will tell you SVB is an underdog to Buste. If he wins he's a hero and if he loses he's still a hero.

CB jumped in there with what I would consider the minimum. Shout out to him and if he had a backer then they all put it in with the minimum. That's gambling. Real people know what that takes.

I actually think I understand what you are saying. However, it is not Chris's job to try and give his money away. He is trying to become a better play and win money in the process. Until (if ever) he is capable of playing guys like busta even he has the right to ask for a spot when he is betting his money.

Believe me if Chris could play any of these guys even he would be barking at them to get up there. According to your logic if Chris doesn't reach World Class speed then he should either never play a world class player or just give his money away and play them even??? Your post makes no sense.

so let me see if i understand this and relate your post to my situation. i don't have a lot of cash so if i bet any money on pool and loose it affects the rest of my life. one of the guys i play is the son of a former touring pro, suffice to say he learned how to play a little bit. everytime i see him he asks what are we doin'? when i play him i ask for a spot. i am still learning to play and he plays very well. so from what you say i'll never get better, i have no heart and i'm a beggar because i ask for a fair game. it's the same thing chris is doing just trying to make a game where they are actuallly gambling. where there is a chance the outcome can go either way. with no spot or too much of one it isn't gambling. it's stealing by one side or the other. i'll ask the same thing of you i asked of the pinoy who was laughing at chris - where's your list of players you've beaten for loads of your own cash? if you've got one - and it better be a good one - i'll appologize. but it better be a serious list of world champions you stomped with no spot or you're j.a.n. yes, that stands for just another nit. heart is stepping in the box, whatever game has been agreed upon by both sides, and putting your cash up. and i don't see alot of other guys standing next to chris and shane willing to f*ck with the best in the world right now. let me know when you're going to do it and i'll buy the tar stream.

I can remember watching the stream of Brandon Shuff vs George Breedlove with Gabe Owen as a coach and while Shuff was behind practically everyone in the chat was clowning Shuff for making such a foolish game and then Shuff had the last laugh.
 
Most people would be better off worrying about themselves than worrying about Chris. Chris can handle himself better than most, he'll be just fine. IMO.

I didn't watch all of this match, but I read quite a few comments about how Breedlove would've won if he didn't follow Owen's coaching on some particular shot.....so they were saying that he lost because of Owen's coaching?

A couple of people posted some negative stuff, no biggie.....there are always a couple of folks ready to kick a man when he's down.....overall, Chris gets a lot of love here and has a good rep.....he'll be just fine....best of luck to him next time out....
