The womans' name whom I have posted this McDermott cue for sale is Kathryn. She is overwhelmed with the generousity being displayed by those of you who have requested her paypal address from me.
This thread was never about donations, it was about someone perhaps stepping up and paying near retail for a cue that could be bought close to wholesale anywhere.
What has happened is that your hearts opened to this young woman, and her unfortunate circumstance, and like me, you wanted to help in some meaningful way.
We have all seen "this girl" working at our local poolroom. We all know "this girl" regardless of what city/town we live in, and we all know she works much harder, with a smile on her face then what the paycheck she receives ever compensates.
She does this out of love for her fellow player. Your donations have shown her just how much you love her back, and that has really restored her faith in humanity, especially in pool players this Christmas. This to me is the greatest gift she has received.
On Thursday, December 20, Kathryn will put the cue up for auction on Ebay through my account with a starting bid of $1.00 with no reserve. It will be a 3 day auction, and I will of course post a link to it on this thread.
Your donations have already exceeded what she was trying to get for the cue, and she was never about making a profit, only trying to salvage what she could out of a bad situation. The auction is her way of paying back the love you have shown her this Christmas.
